Job Description:

This job is responsible for driving accurate, complete, and timely delivery of data. Key responsibilities include working with business stakeholders and technology teams to direct commercial banking data management activities and ensure availability for use by appropriate consumers. Job expectations include managing execution within the enterprise data management standards, data quality, and control practices.


Line of Business Job Description:

The Data Management Governance Manager role will support the Global Operations organization and will be responsible for executing controls and governance routines in support of adherence to the Enterprise Data Management Standards  as well executing strategic initiatives driven by Global Operations Data Strategy or Enterprise Data Strategy and Governance.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with Line of Business partners, including Compliance, Audit, and Risk to understand needs and produce data solutions, often times in partnership with Technology 
  • Identifies gaps in data management standards adherence and works with appropriate partners to develop plans for resolution, including recommendations so that relevant risk and compliance policies and standards are met
  • Analyzes emerging needs for data to address risk, regulatory, or business enablement priorities and appropriately plans for interim and target state solutions within data management policies
  • Monitors key performance indicators and internal controls in accordance with established thresholds, standards, and policies
  • Align to one of the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Standards executing controls across Global Operations (GO). Ownership will include building, delivering and monitoring data controls to identify and mitigate data deficiencies.
  • Liaise with GO LOBs, Technology, DQCE team, the Business other teammates to communicate control status and escalate issues according to defined process
  • Operate with risk and process management discipline for the assigned scope, understanding implications to the organization's ability to mitigate risk and potential impacts on multi-team metrics.
  • Maintains procedures and additional documentation for assigned responsibilities
  • Operate in a highly matrix organization supporting GO data community, GCOR, Audit and EDSGO as needed.
  • Identifies gaps in data management standards adherence and works with appropriate partners to develop plans to close gaps
  • Operational Excellence – drive continuous process improvement and/or automation across the Controls functions for production, data governance, data change and regulatory/audit activities

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Financial Services industry experience
  • Strong problem solving, conceptual thinking, attention to detail, and sense of urgency
  • Ability to manage through ambiguity and agile to process change
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills
  • Ability to build relationships, communicate effectively and influence others
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Visio, and SharePoint
  • Self-starting, organized, proactive, and requiring minimal management oversight
  • Time management, analytical and organizational skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience/exposure to Data/Records, Controls and/or Enterprise Data Management Standards
  • Process improvement experience and training
  • Previous Bank of America experience or strong Bank of America network
  • Ability to manage through ambiguity and agile to process change
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills
