Reporting to the Director of Research and Portfolio Manager, the candidate will rotate through 3 areas of investment management during a 4-month time frame: equity research, credit research and trading.
Within equity and credit research, the candidate will:
Be assigned a discrete industry sector and group of securities (approximately 2-3) to analyze.
Conduct fundamental and in-depth research to make, buy and sell recommendations on securities.
Have full and sole responsibility for those companies and access to all resources available to a full-time Analyst.
Access to Analysts covering related sectors and assigned a Portfolio Manager mentor.
Have regular communication with a Director of Research. Training resources are available as required.
Identify key drivers and generate high-conviction conclusions on the outcome of each driver and resulting impact on stock or bond performance.
Clearly articulate the analysis in written notes and slides, presenting final conclusions to our investment team.
Reporting to the Head Trader Americas, the candidate will:
Collaborate with department senior traders responsible for implementing cross asset investment ideas with a focus on servicing Portfolio Managers investing in the Americas markets and assess Market Risks and Costs while operating within applicable external and internal regulations and guidelines.
Focus on providing the Investment Team with best-in-class market intelligence with the purpose of highlighting Short to Medium Term Portfolio impacts. This includes but is not limited to identifying - liquidity opportunities, underappreciated micro & macro forces, positioning dynamics, regulatory impacts and cross asset moves.
Work closely with the local and international investment teams to understand investment ideas and portfolio manager trade intentions in credit and equity.
Engage with internal compliance, middle office, and settlements teams to minimize operational risk.
