Roles and Responsibilities:

This role is for a Network Engineer expert with Cisco Routers, Switches, Wireless and VoIP equipment, software and design.  

You will:

  • Be highly skilled in the use of troubleshooting tools, network design and documentation (including drawings), implementation of new or refreshed networks, maintain medium to large layer 2/layer 3 networks.  
  • Work daily Incident and Request Service Now tickets: analyzing, troubleshooting, completing remediation efforts to resolve network device and Local Area Network issues including completing documentation of the effort and resolution.
  • Configure and upgrade network hardware and software code, deploying and managing wireless networks, manage VoIP switch port configurations.  
  • Be responsible for project estimating, design and implementation.
  • Complete Change Management process & approvals for all changes.
  • Completion of changes and maintenance in the Maintenance Window.
  • Follow process and procedures for wiping equipment to be returned to storage or a vendor.
  • Do proactive checks of equipment and reports for errors that can be fixed before an outage occurs. 
  •  Create and maintain network documentation related to deployed assets.
  • Participate in the On-call rotation to provide 24/7 Network Engineering support.
  • Have the ability to present to the customer’s senior management.
  • Will be a technical escalation point for the rest of engineering staff.
  • Perform team lead activities.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years LAN Network Engineering
  • 10+ years’ experience in Cisco Switch/Router network configuration and troubleshooting
  • Expert knowledge of Cisco router and switch configuration and troubleshooting
  • Highly skilled in the use of troubleshooting tools
  • Expert knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting VSS and HSRP
  • Expert knowledge of MACsec configuration and troubleshooting
  • Expert knowledge of layer 2 tunneling
  • Expert knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting layer 2 and layer 3 protocols (e.g. spanning tree, IPv4, 802.1q, EIGRP)
  • Expert knowledge of Cisco software licensing and upgrading IOS
  • Expert knowledge of IP addressing and subnetting
  • Verbal and written Communication skills - Visio, Power Point, Word, Excel
  • LAN Design and Architecture - Minimum 10 years’ experience
  • Expert in Deploying and managing Cisco wireless environments (wireless LAN controller and access points)
  • Experience with VoIP deployment
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks 
  • Strong Communication and presentation skills. Be able to communicate effectively with network engineering (internal and external) and management (internal and customer)   
  • Create and maintain network documentation related to deployed assets 
  • A customer focused Senior Network Engineer

Desired Skills:

  • Protocols - Ethernet, Multicast, Spanning Tree, TCP/IP, 802.1x, Wireless protocols, VoIP protocols, and Network Infrastructure
  • 5 years’ experience with Service Now ticketing system and meeting SLA requirements.
  • Expert troubleshooting LAN to WAN issues
  • Expert understanding of Network Design Best Practices
  • A self-starter able to work independently as well as Team member

Desired:

Current Cisco Certification – CCIE

**Prefer candidates based near Denver, Colorado but remote candidates will be considered as well.

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $91,400 - $169,700.
