The Role 

We are looking for an Assistant to join our Motion Picture Marketing group in Los Angeles. The Assistant will provide support to a Marketing Executive. Motion Picture Marketing works in consultation with studios to offer strategic support for the launch and promotion of motion pictures. The ideal candidate will have a passion for marketing and film and is continually learning about the industry. They will be agile and able to juggle scheduling and calls on a high-volume desk, successfully communicate with industry executives, plan screening events, and pull data to track box office performance. Growth opportunities exist for top performers. 

 

Responsibilities 

Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in all aspects of the role, including maintaining accurate records and managing calendars. 

Keeping track of industry trends, including marketing trends and box office performance.  

Pull and maintain data on film and industry performance.   

Assist with planning and execution of approximately 40 in-person tastemaker evening screening events.   

Attendance at evening events will be required.   

Maintain a calm and professional demeanor under pressure, adapting quickly to changing priorities and managing expectations effectively. 

Maintain strong attention to detail via daily tasks, projects, and event planning.  

Work collaboratively with the Motion Picture marketing team as well as groups across CAA and the industry.  

Administrative duties including handling heavy phones, calendar management, scheduling travel, booking reports, preparing expense reports, and general office management tasks.  

Handle working with clients with professionalism and discretion, maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills. 

 

Qualifications 

Interest in awards-centric film marketing, publicity, or events. Proven experience in managing high volumes of emails and phone calls, demonstrating exceptional communication and organizational skills. 

Highly organized with ability to multitask and effectively manage while maintaining attention to detail. 

Familiarity with the motion picture industry and marketing is a plus. 

Demonstrated interest in Motion Picture industry.   

Diplomacy, and ability to work with a variety of people in the industry.   

Team oriented, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.  

Event planning experience a plus. 

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. 

 

 

Location 

This role will be on-site in Los Angeles, CA. 

 

 

Compensation 

The base hourly rate for this position is in the range of $20.00 - $22.00. This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus. Ultimately, wages may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
