Linklaters is a multi-national commercial law firm, with 31 offices in 21 countries worldwide.

The Team

Re:link is Linklaters’ flexible lawyer platform. We provide Linklaters' clients and practice groups with swift access to a community of high-quality consultants to solve their flexible resourcing needs.

Re:link is a key part of Limitless, Linklater’s Alternative Legal Services offering. Limitless draws together Linklaters’ paralegals, support lawyers, legal project managers and legaltech professionals as well as Re:link consultants. By drawing on talent from across the UK, it embraces a fully location agnostic model, ensuring the firm has access to the widest possible pool of talent to meet client needs.

The role:

At Re:link the client team is at the heart of what we do. Allocated into different sub-teams (“Desks”) to focus on distinct practice areas and/or clients, the client team works hand-in-glove with Linklaters partners and practice groups, matching high-quality Re:link consultants to where our clients need them most.

As a member of the Client Desk that currently focusses chiefly on banking, capital markets, financial regulation and investment funds placements, the Client Advisor will primarily have hands-on involvement in the day-to-day execution by the Desk of new client opportunities and their end-to-end management, ensuring that both client and Re:link consultant benefit from exceptional service. The role reports to the Client Manager for this Desk.

Additionally, as a member of the wider Client team, he or she will be expected and be willing to enthusiastically support other Desks in relation to their client opportunities, thereby enabling all Desks to draw on the support of each other as required as a single collaborative team, including during periods of high busyness and absences of leave.

It is also anticipated that, as both Re:link and the focus, strategy or structure of Client Desks evolve and/or grow, the focus of the Client Advisor’s role may furthermore evolve and he or she may be asked to re-focus on client opportunities in other or new practice areas and/or Desks and he or she should be willing to do so.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Execution of new client opportunities, taking personal ownership for multiple opportunities while also drawing on support from other members of the Desk, including the Talent team. Client opportunities comprise placements with external clients as well as internally within Linklaters practice groups, covering the full end-to-end sales process. This includes:
    • engaging with clients, including participating in briefings and negotiating terms;
    • shortlisting and matching Re:link consultants to opportunities;
    • determining and negotiating appropriate pricing;
    • engaging with relevant partners and practice groups and securing their ongoing commitment and involvement throughout the process;
    • engaging with Re:link consultants with respect to client opportunities, including testing, briefings, negotiating appropriate fees and terms, availability and absence of conflicts.
  • Relationship management of placements assigned to you, including regular and proactive engagement and communication with the client, the Re:link consultant and the sponsoring Linklaters practice group, ensuring that expectations are met and any issues resolved promptly.
  • Account management i.e. ensuring that the Desk’s client opportunities and placements assigned to you are managed professionally and efficiently from an operational and financial perspective, drawing on and working closely with the Re:link Finance and Operations teams. This includes resolving any queries relating to pricing, time recording, invoices or similar matters raised by clients and Re:link consultants as well as by business managers and billing and revenue teams connected to the placement.
  • Support the Client team to drive business development opportunities for Re:link and build, expand and deepen relationships with both external clients and practice groups, including those aligned to his/her Desk. This includes involvement in initiatives to increase engagement, raise profile and build strong collaborative partnerships with partners and practice groups, generating new external client introductions and leads, and promoting cross-selling opportunities with other Linklaters teams.
  • Undertaking other team projects and priorities as and when required, in light of the fast paced and evolving nature of Re:link’s activities

You will ideally have/be:

  • experience in a comparable role in a peer flexible legal resourcing platform, high-end legal recruitment consultancy and/or other alternative legal services platform, with a sound understanding of the legal sector
  • energetic, proactive and driven to truly “get under the skin” and take full ownership of the opportunities for which you are responsible
  • proactive, driven and energetic
  • natural rapport with people, confident and articulate
  • bring structure, discipline and focus, with the ability to plan ahead
  • commercial and numerate and a problem solver
  • sets and delivers high standards in all that he/she does, including attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • hands-on, flexible, willing to “get hands dirty” to help the team with whatever it needs, team player, enthusiastic.
