This newly created Head of Legal role is pivotal to supporting our mission and driving growth. As the first legal hire, you’ll work directly with senior leadership to build a scalable, business-savvy legal function that protects our assets, supports informed decision-making, and creates sustainable value.

Key Responsibilities

As the Head of Legal, you will:

  • Partner with Leadership: Provide strategic legal advice, manage risks, and foster risk-informed decision-making across teams.

  • Build Scalable Operations: Design policies, processes, and practices to manage commercial contracts and cross functional programmes in your remit.

  • Lead Risk and Compliance: Develop frameworks for managing legal, information security, and business risks, aligning them with company goals.

  • Oversee IT and InfoSec: Manage our Information Security Manager and IT services, ensuring strong controls and compliance.

  • Drive ESG Initiatives: Support governance-focused programs, including sustainability reporting, KPIs, and compliance frameworks.

  • Champion Process Improvements: Leverage automation and data-driven insights to improve workflows and implement tools for compliance and risk management.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for a strong, business-oriented legal professional with:

  • Experience: 6–10 years post-qualification, ideally in tech or high-growth environments.

  • Expertise: Skilled in intellectual property, data protection and privacy and information security

  • Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to advise senior executives, develop compliance programs, and foster a culture of awareness.

  • Operational Savvy: Experience negotiating commercial contracts, working in multiple jurisdictions (specifically in the US) and implementing risk frameworks.

  • Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills and a history of working with cross-functional teams, including finance, IT, and HR.

  • Ownership: A proactive approach to building scalable, impact-driven legal functions.
