Your key responsibilities as a Trade Compliance Lead Specialist:
- Apply quality principles to identify process improvement opportunities, determine available options, implementation strategies and make recommendations to management.
- Resolve export shipment issues working with internal and third parties such as freight forwarders for resolution.
- Ensuring trade in goods activities comply with government laws and regulations. The laws and regulations include but are not limited to: Unions Customs Code (UCC), Foreign Trade Regulations and payment act (German AWV / AWR), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and EU Customs Prohibitions and restrictions (e. g. import bans, CBAM, other product regulatory categories).
- Help to comply with EU Compliance activities and arising reporting obligations under the ESG regulatory landscape
- Provide guidance on the export of products, services, transfer of technical data, and all other trade operations matters.
- Interacting regularly with and providing operational support and guidance including export declaration compliance matters to internal stakeholders.
- check, audit and initiate corrections on ATLAS declarations as needed
- Train new and existing workforce on EU Trade Compliance
- Work with government agencies (e. g. Export Control authorities, EU Customs, statistical offices)
- Support activity within SAP ECC/GTS including reviewing and releasing system blocks.
- Perform internal self-assessments based on risk analysis to ensure trade compliance activities are executed properly.
- Execute processes, controls, record keeping and audit preparation regarding export and import declarations.
- Monitor compliance and performance of external service providers and participate in service review meetings and evaluate quality levels.
- Lead in identifying process gaps/inefficiencies/improvements and solutions as aligned with management.
- Supporting the Greater EU Trade Analyst team in daily activities.
- Provide management team with weekly and monthly metrics and KPIs.
- Lead process improvement initiatives working with GIS team, internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Your education and experience
- Project management skills
- Thorough working knowledge of and experience with EU and US Customs, UCC, EAR, AWR/AWV laws and regulations and practical application in export compliance processes, procedures, and policies.
- Ability to communicate with professionals and people of all levels of the organization and to operate effectively within a team environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify patterns and trends.
- Proficient in SAP, excel, data analytics and visualization.
- Well-developed organizational, priority management and planning skills.
- Working knowledge of authorization management and Trade solutions
- Excellent communication and effective interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated customer focus with the ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Keen attention to details and accurate in execution of any task.
- Ability to work autonomously, with minimal direction, self-motivated and results driven.
- Ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams and international environment.
- Exhibits a high level of integrity and discretion.
- 10 or more years of experience in related field.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Trade or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Preferred experience in highly regulated, high-tech or semiconductor industry.
- Professional Certificates, Licenses and foreign language skills (French, Dutch, Finish etc.) is a plus.
