This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to Earth’s orbit and beyond. Engineered with a reusable first stage and a seven-meter payload fairing, New Glenn is building the road to space.

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of specialists, you will act as a Technical Project Manager for ground systems located on Historic Launch Complex 36, to include the New Glenn Transporter Erector and several test stands. This role requires close collaboration with internal and external design teams and subcontractors to manage and coordinate design deliveries to meet construction requirement. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of design, procurement, fabrication, installation and testing. As a Technical Project Manager, you will coordinate with Architects of Record and Blue engineers as needed for construction execution, design review, design or intent change integration. In this role you will coordinate with subcontractors to maintain all schedule milestones, manage and approve request for information and submittals, review cost estimates and change orders, execute procurements process for unbought scope, and review/disposition non conformances.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with fluid system design (ASME B31.3), hazard classification, design documentation, construction drawings, construction bid solicitation, contractor selection, construction management, field superintendent, permitting, QA/QC
  • Candidate must be able to lift/carry up to fifty pounds. Must be able to physically climb multiple flights stairs, withstand prolonged standing, and work in adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to design and understand precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and modeling applications
  • Ability to perform and manage technically complex projects using independent judgment and personal initiative
  • Recognize and act on opportunities; maintain flexibility to pivot as requirements shift or constraints change
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), Intermediate
  • Candidate must be able to successfully apply for badging at a government installation
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with fluid system design, fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Experience with project planning and controls
  • Experience with Launch GSE Operations
  • Experience working with DOD, USAF, and/or NASA
  • Experience working to AFSPCMAN 91-710 range requirements
