The Opportunity

The Business Manager – Toxicology (ANZPI) reports to the Regional Business Director Toxicology, Abbott and is responsible for the management and development of channels/markets throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands for Abbott’s range of Toxicology products and services. This includes responsibility for both sales and marketing activities.

Responsibilities

Technical / Operational

  • Responsible for overall Toxicology sales targets across distributor networks, service provider and direct sales

  • Managing day-to-day operational functions of the Toxicology Division

  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of the ANZPI toxicology market: Government, Workplace Drug Testing, Clinical and competitor landscape.

  • Formulating and implementing sales and marketing strategies for the market to grow toxicology business

  • Working closely with the APAC regional team to ensure said strategies, while locally refined, are in line with global strategy/messaging

  • Comprehensive distributor management in line with Abbott Distributor management requirements.

  • New Product Introduction marketing, sales strategy and implementation

  • Inventory management, responsible for the development and management of processes to facilitate both market information and understanding of manufacturing lead times and requirements to support the sales and operations planning process (S&OP)

 

Internal Systems and Processes

  • Enhance knowledge of Quality Systems

  • Adherence to companies reporting deadlines and governance framework

  • Manage the development of systems and processes that ensure efficient delivery of Toxicology products and services.

 

Customers

  • Work closely with customers to identify growth opportunities and market direction and assist clients with the most appropriate products and tools to be successful.

  • Facilitate relationships with key industry customers and demonstrate the value that Abbott brings beyond a simple vendor exchange.

  • Responsible for overseeing delivery of distributor contracts and agreements.

  • Ensure our partners follow QA/Reg/Branding and volumes specified in said contracts.

  • Manage Distributor register and biannual/annual reviews.

 

Financial

  • Prepare strategic plans and budgets to meet both Toxicology customer needs and Abbott organizational goals

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets

  • Manage delegated operational expenditure to within budget.

  • Report weekly, monthly and annually to required internal partners.

 

Conduct

  • Ensure all activities carried out by self and direct report(s) are in accordance with legislative employment policies, health & safety requirements and Corporate policy.

  • Promote a standard of excellence for quality and customer focus at Abbott.

  • Promote awareness of compliance requirements throughout the organisation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Essential

-   Relevant Medical/Science Bachelor’s Degree

-   History of commercial success with a diverse customer base

  • Desirable

- Post Graduate Business qualification

Knowledge of Toxicology industry and major participants
