The Role

Propel your legal career by joining Brisbane’s market leading Workplace Relations, Employment, and Safety (WRES) legal practice, working with all three workplace partners Shae McCartney, Christy Miller, and Hilary Searing. This opportunity is a full-time permanent position . With the practice group going from strength to strength, the three partners are looking for the right candidate to be part of the future growth of the group.

Our Brisbane WRES team advises on all aspects of workplace relations including industrial relations, employment, occupational health and safety and anti-discrimination. This unique opportunity gives the right candidate the chance to grow their career by working across varied and interesting matters – from industrial strategy and disputes, project management and support, compliance and regulatory matters, restructuring, underpayments and litigation across most Courts and Tribunals.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, the following attributes will be required:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Associate working on a range of employment and industrial relations matters. Safety experience is desirable
  • Ability to draft clear, concise, correct and commercial advice and documents
  • A strong sense of purpose, ambition and a proactive approach to your work
  • Strong people skills; the ability to communicate and build a rapport with our clients
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and an ability to communicate with impact to both internal contacts and external clients
  • An appetite, and demonstrated ability to mentor and coach more junior team members
  • A high degree of initiative, dedication and organisational ability with a strong client and commercial focus
  • A proactive attitude towards personal development to expand your skills and knowledge to meet client needs
  • In addition to this, we're looking for a driven, self-starter; someone who is able to work autonomously and is focused on attention to detail and providing an outstanding service to their clients.
