Senior Business Unit Compliance Specialist


Overview of Position 

The Senior Business Unit Compliance Specialist is primarily responsible for the investigation, coordination, and timely response of complaints filed against the claims department by regulatory bodies such as departments of insurance (DOI) or an attorney general and consumer service such as the Better Business Bureau (BBB). The position will also assist in analyzing new regulatory requirements, creating recommendations for required changes, distributing information internally, and being a resource for the claims department when reviewing compliance matters. 


What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job? 

  • Investigate and coordinate timely response to regulatory complaints
  • Analyze and communicate the impact of new regulatory requirements
  • Accurate and timely completion and submission of data calls
  • Prompt completion of anti-fraud audits
  • Monitor for adjuster licensing compliance
  • Assist in the production of documentation as needed for client audits or state exams
  • Ability to summarize in written form clearly and accurately, claims events

 
What are the requirements needed for this position? 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the claims process in a P&C environment
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory/management or team lead experience including coaching and developing employees
  • Basic office computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office & Excel
  • P&C Adjuster license or ability to obtain within 30 days. 
  • Highly collaborative and able to exercise influence
  • Excellent organization and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Experience in claims or insurance operations, commercial lines products a plus
  • Critical thinking skills

REQUIRED OTHER FUNCTIONS AS NEEDED:

  • Catastrophe response including but not limited to claim intake, fielding status calls, manning insurance villages, or other duties as needed.

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?  

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Familiarity with the P&C claims process from beginning to end.
  • Proven ability to work in a challenging environment meeting client service standards and production goals.
  • Detail oriented with a commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to think creatively and make appropriate decisions.

Pay Range:

$47,100.00 - $77,700.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
