What You’ll Get to Do
Serve as a Cloud Systems Administrator supporting our National Security Mission. You will oversee and provide system administration, integration, maintenance and customer support on the customer’s Enterprise Development, Test, and Production systems. This position has a special emphasis on Amazon Web Services (AWS), OpenText, PeopleSoft, and Corporate Business systems.
More About the Role
- Build, deploy, configure, and maintain cloud-based applications running on Windows and Linux operating systems and leveraging cloud services such as EC2, EBS, ELB, S3, and RDS. Provision stable AMIs, perform software installations, troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Manage and administer the OpenText suite of applications. Perform upgrades, optimize configurations, realizing efficiencies where possible.
- Manage and oversee day-to-day pay, benefits, time and labor, and job announcement file transfers and batch processes.
- Resolve a wide range of complex system failures - from application and PKI to security and PeopleSoft batch processes - addressing incident tickets in accordance with established procedures and Service Level Agreements.
- Automate critical production processes through a variety of industry standard methods – cloud services, application, operating system, and scripting.
- Monitor cloud spend, reducing unnecessary infrastructure costs and renewing reserved instances on schedule.
- Achieve optimum system performance, availability, and security by assessing, identifying, implementing, and managing innovative technical, cloud, and cost-optimized solutions.
- Execute cloud infrastructure modifications (i.e., storage, load balancing, instance resizing/tuning) with zero downtime and customer impact.
- Coordinate systems maintenance in advance with customer and program offices to ensure balance between operational requirements and critical infrastructure, application, and security modifications.
- Proactively monitor and review systems, security, and application logs, using a variety of methods, to mitigate risk and maintain compliance with NIST and IC directives.
- Maintain close coordination with the Chief Architect to maintain/adopt industry best practices/standards.
- Perform backups and restores of operating, file, and database systems using established methods. Maintain user accounts and file systems.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications
- BS degree in CS, IS, engineering, or other technical discipline, and five years’ experience.
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- Strong technical background with a thorough understanding of cloud infrastructure, IT security principles, compute, storage, and transport.
- Expertise in Windows and Linux server operating systems.
- Interpersonal communication, problem solving, organizational, customer-oriented, and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work as part of a high functioning team as well as independently.
- Must be available for after hours and on-call support.
- Visual acuity to work on a computer for extended periods of time, ability to move from one workstation to another, and communicate with colleagues and customers.
- TS/SCI clearance and ability to successfully complete a polygraph.
These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional
- Knowledge of OpenText Content Suite and PeopleSoft applications.
- Experience with the customer’s programs and facilities.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$82,100-$172,400
