Responsibilities and Impact:

Reporting to the Head of Global Commercial Strategy, Product & Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading S&P Global Ratings’ Commercial Product Innovation and Development global team. In this capacity, this leader will be responsible for creating a “Think Tank” winning group by leading an efficient product lifecycle, including ideation, designing, and developing new non-rated products through market launch, and managing and developing a team of experienced senior professionals. Joining a fast-paced Commercial Ratings team, the candidate will be at the forefront of evolving S&P Global Ratings’ product suite and capitalizing on cross-divisional opportunities to grow our business, increase our market relevance, and enhance the customer experience.

  • Create a Product Think Tank environment within the Product team to foster and encourage product ideation and innovation.

  • With a business development approach, the candidate will be customer facing staying abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies by conducting market research, leveraging internal stakeholder insights, and customer feedback to identify new product ideas and enhance existing products

  • Understand market product gaps and related trends in order to innovate and properly identify and articulate product ideas to internal working teams and R&D partners.

  • Scope out the market demand for products and work closely with the Product Management team who produce product briefs and product proto-types.

  • Lead, design and execute a comprehensive customer feedback strategy to ensure important market intelligence is incorporated in the production of the product proto-types. 

  • Ensure the Product Innovation and Development team works with Analytical, Technology, Legal, Compliance, and other internal partners to identify new features in S&P Global Ratings products that need to be built, enhanced, or retired

  • Create, manage, and communicate the rolling product strategy and roadmap to be used as a guiding tool for stakeholders and the team

  • Create high levels of communication between Product / Operations / Analytical R&D and other key stakeholder teams, working closely with senior leaders to properly understand challenges in order to prioritize initiatives

  • Create partner relationships across S&P Global Enterprise and divisions to align on Product best practices and identify potential economies of scale for enhanced synergies

  • Identify potential risks in product development and operations based on market demand/feedback from the early stages onward, creating strategies to mitigate these risks, or substantiate aborting initiatives

  • As a business owner for new products and customer platforms, ensure business objectives are met as it relates to revenue optimization, OKRs and KPIs

  • Lead a team of seven product professionals who are responsible for new product development and support the product life cycle and market launch

  • Be a role model, educator, coach, mentor across the team and wider Commercial organization.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $152,600 to $303,575. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.  This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits. What We’re Looking For:

  • 15+ years of management experience, ideally in Financial Services

  • Ability to size markets and sectors with keen ability to find opportunities to innovate new product opportunities

  • A dynamic and inquisitive business development leader who identifies product ideas from market interactions and easily articulates them into product proto-types

  • Superior people management and development (helping people grow their skills / capabilities) with a focus on continual learning  

  • Excellent strategic thinking and vision-setting abilities, with the capability to align product strategy with business goals and market dynamics

  • Ability to work in an ambiguous, regulated, and highly matrixed environment

  • Superior communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization

  • High energy and ability to work in past-paced environment demonstrating a curiosity and drive with an innovative mindset

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and influence skills and an ability to interact with people with varying levels of technical knowledge

  • Solid knowledge in Debt credit Markets (public and/or private) and an understanding of the customers’ needs in these segments would be a distinct advantage

  • Knowledge in Sustainable Finance, emerging markets, and other risk assessment integrated products would be a significant plus

  • Comprehensive understanding of Rating-related products/services
