Operational Excellence/ Continuous Improvement Manager Koog
Job Description:
This position is created within the context of launching the Operation Excellence (OE) Program, a continuous improvement program in the manufacturing sites of Tate & Lyle. It is a progressive position as the role of the Operational Excellence Manager changes with the progress of the implementation.
This position’s mission is to implement and sustain the OE Program. The local Operational Excellence Manager is the linking pin between the site and Operational Excellence program. The OE/CI Manager is part of the Management Team Koog.
The quality of non-hierarchical management and influencing without authority (project management, change management, continuous improvement) is crucial for this position.
The Operational Excellence Manager role is a full-time job.
Responsibilities:
The local Operational Excellence Manager has the following core responsibilities:
- Develop and drive OE Plans
- Lead the Site OE Steering Committee in defining and communicating the site Compelling Business Need
- Support the Site OE Steering Committee and the pillars in their Masterplan definitions
- Manage OE progress on-site and facilitate the OE roadmap
- Organize audits to ensure the right appropriation of the approach by everyone and the absence of deviation
- Leading the OE “Centre of Excellence” on-site
- contribute to the definition of standards, norms and best practices for manufacturing management and performance measurement
- promote the OE approach at site, country and group level
- identify and promote best practices on-site and help transfer them to the Group best practice database
- Promote and organize the information exchange between pillars, areas and teams
- Coordinate local communication in relation to the OE Program
- Monitor progress of the different workstreams, including Digital Roadmap related projects
- Local CI champion: monitor, report and facilitate management of the local continuous improvement initiatives and projects
- In charge of the planning & reporting systems on-site
- Primary point of contact for the consultants supporting the site, implying organize the visits, follow actual/budget hours and invoicing, assessment of the support
Specifically for the OE Program Phase 1 through 4:
- Facilitate, drive and promote the project on-site (with help and support from the workstreams):
- initiate the approach and take an active part in the diagnosis
- define and monitor local OE planning
- lead at least one OE implementation on-site
- follow and support the progress of the other teams
- alert in case of deviation (planning, results…)
- learn and implement methods and tools first-hand and subsequently train new project members to these tools and methods
- prepare local steering committee meetings
- report on the local OE Program plan, status and progress
- facilitate the initiation of new activities (teams) by the local steering committee and then the pillars
- facilitate training activities
- set up pillar management and support pillar teams
Qualifications
The local OE Manager has:
- A relevant academic degree (engineering preferred)
- A minimum of 5 years professional experience in production and/or logistics in an industrial environment (or in the relevant department for non-industrial OE) with proven experience in OE or CI program management

- Knowledge of production, logistics and maintenance processes (or relevant departmental processes)
- Fluent in English: capacity to lead a meeting in English on technical subjects, to have telephone conversations, to write meeting reports and synthesis technical documents.
- Fluent in local language: capacity to lead a meeting in local language on technical subjects, to have telephone conversations, to write meeting reports and synthesis technical documents
- Digital skills: MS Office, SAP, OSI-PI, good understanding of information systems in general. Power BI is a plus
- Lean/6 sigma and/or TPM, including CI belt level (min. Green)
