JR65210 IT System Administrator

Responsibilities and Tasks:  

You will work regularly with Micron’s Business Units to ensure solutions meet or exceed business requirements. You will be expected to suggest, promote, and leverage published standards to minimize environment complexity and ensure regulatory as well as license compliance. You will have the opportunity to travel to other Micron sites as well as technology conferences and trainings.

Operations​:

Participate in rotational oncall support

  • Work on issues called out by L2 operations team​
  • Work on cases brought up to vendors (RedHat, VMWare, Cisco, HPE, Dell, Lenovo)​
  • Support storage and DC operations
  • Participate in site ERT as oncall support​
  • Support changes following organizational change process
  • Work on operation improvement initiatives, such as issue and incident count review and reduction​
  • Review operational reports and address abnormalities and passdown items​
  • Address issues, risks and concerns (such as performance issues, intermittent timeouts, etc)​
  • Capacity, lifecycle refresh planning and firmware management
  • Participate as site representative and coordinate activities and work on issues and initiatives
  • Participate in Unix Collab meetings​
  • Participate in Business Continuity Planning and DR strategy including detailing of DR procedures, and implementing DR drills​
  • Maintain and update operational documentations to ensure up-to-date

Projects & Others:

  • Support OS, software and hardware lifecycle refreshes ​
  • Support initiatives from MFG and non-IT groups through requirement analysis, POC and implementation
  • Develop SOE for upgrades and migrations​
  • Define strategy to perform technology upgrades and lifecycle refreshes ​
  • Perform POC for new technology and application systems​
  • Develop automation for productivity improvement and operational efficiency​
