About Kojo

It's time to build. Whether it's creating more housing, upgrading our infrastructure, or adapting to climate change, one thing is clear: the construction industry is at the center of solving our biggest problems. We’re making buildings cheaper and easier to build by transforming the way commercial construction companies buy their materials. Join us.

Founded in 2018, Kojo is now one of the fastest-growing construction technology companies in the world. Construction accounts for $10 trillion in global spend annually and we can’t live without its output - our roads, schools, hospitals, and offices. Despite this, there’s been very little innovation over the past 70 years in how materials - which constitute up to 40% of project costs - are bought and sold. This is our opportunity.

We’re looking for an amazing Director, People Operations. This role will support and strengthen the employee experience through a high level of empathy and action, ensuring a consistent and optimal remote work experience for our team as well as operational excellence for People Operations.

About the Role

This role reports directly to the COO and will be responsible for creating, implementing, and managing people programs, policies, and processes related to: onboarding, offboarding, systems, company data, payroll, total rewards, benefits and leave administration, and compliance. This role will also partner closely with our Director, Talent to support people programs related to engagement and performance as well as support organizational design and effectiveness work across the team.

This role will include:

  • Managing Kojo’s benefits program, including negotiating annual renewals, handling annual reporting, running open enrollment, and supporting employees

  • Managing the administration and tracking of the People Operation policies and programs, updating them as needed

  • Owning annual reporting for the company, including ACA, EEO-C, 5500s as well as other annual reporting and compliance tasks

  • Building trust with employees and provide a high quality employee experience by resolving issues promptly and responding to employee questions and concerns related to payroll, benefits, compensation, leaves, and other established or new processes

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with external vendors, such as insurance carriers, benefit providers, and third-party administrators

  • Consulting with Department Heads on organizational design and restructuring as well as workforce planning

  • Developing strong, trusted partnerships and candid coaching relationships with leaders across the organization, partnering to continually improve and innovate our people processes and programs

About You

What you’ve accomplished:

  • 7+ years of progressive HR/ People Operations experience that includes developing and implementing people programs in a high-growth environment in the US and internationally
