About the Role
 

The Commercial Strategy Analyst is a pivotal position on the Commercial team. Supporting Elsevier’s Nursing and Health Education business unit. You are analytical, strategic and committed to purpose-driven goals. We are committed to making the world a better place and achieving both business and financial goals. We help to educate and train students pursuing careers in nursing and health professions. You will report to the Senior Vice President of Commercial for Nursing and Health Education.
 

Responsibilities
 

  • Working closely with Finance, Strategy and Pricing teams. Defining Commercial goals as it relates to investments in products and services that are revenue generating.
  • Working closely with Marketing to deliver Commercial objectives and strategies. Which lead to strategic marketing plans and campaigns meant to help us achieve our KPO's annually.
  • Using internal and external data sets to understand how we maximize our revenue potential and the impact on our products. Then, using this data to segment customers and build powerful Go-To-Market sales strategies.
  • Monitoring market trends/developments of key competitors' products/events in the market that pose risk or opportunity, and how we react.
  • Taking observations, turning them into insights that are presented to senior management then, communicated to customer facing teams for execution.


Requirements
 

  • Have an accredited institution education. Advanced education or credentials in a quantitative discipline are valued.
  • Have significant experience working with data to understand and formulate Commercial and Go-To-Market strategies.
  • Able to understand and dive into business problems, key drivers, and strategic challenges.
  • Display advanced analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
  • Display advanced Excel user; comfortable with Salesforce and Tableau. Willing to learn Elsevier's data sets in order to extract and analyze data toward formulating Go-To-Market activities.
  • Be an effective communicator with excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills
  • Be an exceptional collaborator with ability to build and manage relationships across functional teams
  • Have aptitude for making the connections between data and market opportunity.
  • Be self-motivated; Comfortable working both in a matrixed team and independently; Enthusiastic and positive mindset.
