About you and this role

Dow Consumer Solutions is seeking a highly motivated, strategic, and customer-focused professional for the role of Global & EMEAI Business Communications Manager. This role focuses globally on the industrial and chemical processing (I&CP) markets and regionally in EMEAI on both the building & infrastructure (B&I) and I&CP markets. The I&CP markets are highly fragmented and include silicon-based applications in Textiles, Pulp & Paper, Leather, and Coatings.

This position can be at major Dow sites within the Western European Union, including locations such as Madrid, Spain, and Seneffe, Belgium.

The Global Business Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing global marketing communications strategies for Dow’s innovations and solutions, targeting audiences across the industrial and chemical processing markets. This individual provides strategic communications counsel to Regional MMT Leaders globally and Regional Marketing Managers in EMEAI, oversees and coordinates the promotional work in all regions, and coaches the regional business communicators to ensure a collaborative approach to implement the promotion strategies and plans across all regions.  

Additionally, this role includes developing and implementing the regional business communications strategy in EMEAI aligned with the global strategy and in close collaboration with the regional marketers. In addition to strategic communications work, the responsibilities encompass a variety of communication endeavors, including but not limited to narrative creation and content development, digital and social media campaigns, coordination of in-person and virtual events such as tradeshows and management of media relations.

The position is part of Dow Consumer Solutions business communications team, and will report Liv Schneider-Affeld, Global Business Communications Leader, Dow Consumer Solutions. This individual will sit on as ad hoc member on the Global and EMEAI Market Coordination/Management Teams of both Building & Infrastructure and Industrial & Chemical Processing markets.

Responsibilities

Owns global marketing communications strategies and budget for the industrial and chemical processing markets.

  • Responsible for developing and implementing global communication strategies for the industrial and chemical processing markets, including KPI definition and ROI tracking.
  • Owns global marketing communications budget
  • Implements or oversees the implementation of global marcom tactics and develops narratives and consistent messages that resonate with target audiences
  • Owns the global digital marketing communications campaigns, including social media, SEO/SEM, and email marketing.
  • Provides communications counsel and guidance to the Regional Segment Leaders (MMT).
  • Oversees and coaches regional business communicators to ensure effective resource management, consistent messaging, and enhanced promotion effectiveness when implementing promotion strategies and plans across all regions.
  • Part of the DCS Global Business Communications Leads Team.
  • Crisis communications lead for both markets.

Owns EMEAI marketing communications strategies and budget for the building & infrastructure and industrial and chemical processing markets.

  • In charge of communication strategy and content development for EMEAI, ensuring alignment with global communications and regional priorities, and owning the promotional budget for the region.
  • Develops and executes integrated communication plans to promote building & infrastructure as well as industrial and chemical processing technologies to target audiences via multiple communication tactics, including new product launches, re-promotions, thought leadership initiatives, media engagement, customer communication programs, and creative advertising campaigns.
  • Develops messaging and writes communications materials, including public relations materials (press releases, fact sheets, etc.).
  • Organizes both in-person and virtual tradeshows, conferences, and webinars.
  • Owns development and implementation of digital plans, including content development, website updates, literature publishing, email marketing campaigns and social media
  • Oversees agency management, including performance evaluation and relationship management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or related fields.
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, business communications, and/or related communications disciplines.
  • Deep understanding of strategic communications, content marketing, and media engagement.
  • Fluent in English (both spoken and written); proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
  • Robust knowledge of digital and social media communications, tools, and analytics.
  • Ability to work with diverse cultures, functions, businesses, and stakeholder groups while managing multiple projects and clients simultaneously, prioritizing a diverse range of projects, and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, problem-solving, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Experience in agency and budget management.
