Real World Data & Analytics (RWD&A) at GSK

RWD&A is an integral part of Biostatistics Dept. within GSK. The team collaborates with various departments to support drug development and patient access through comprehensive analytics. We excel in generating value-based Real-World Evidence (RWE) across multiple therapy areas, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of R&D. Our mission is to create a Center of Excellence that aids internal decision-making and contributes to successful regulatory approval and reimbursement of medicines and vaccines. We leverage complex Real-World Data (RWD) to generate rapid, scalable insights throughout the product life cycle. Our vision is to revolutionize decision-making and strategic planning with RWD and advanced analytics, empowering businesses and individuals to make informed, data-driven choices. We are accountable for –

• Leveraging comprehensive knowledge in the unique challenges of Real-World Data (RWD) to design, develop, and implement analytical strategies, aiming to generate appropriate real-world evidence through accurate interpretation of results.
• Strengthening the scientific methods and merit of non-interventional studies by providing statistical and programming support
• Analysing complex RWD to generate rapid, scalable insights throughout the product life cycle to aid in decision making
• Using expertise and external relationships to build valuable RWD partnerships to expand access to data, especially when commercial access is unavailable

The successful candidate will have:
A Master’s degree in Data Science/Statistics Discipline 

In addition, ideally you will have: 
•    An innovative and flexible mindset
•    The ability to deal with complexity comfortably
•    Strong problem-solving ability
•    Effective written and verbal communication skills
•    A resilient and ‘can do’ attitude with scientific reasoning
•    An interest in the analysis of scientific data, a keen eye for detail and high quality

What will you do?

You will be dictated by the needs of GSK’s pipeline of products, the needs of the RWD&A function and your role. Opportunities exist to work on the delivery of pipeline assets in specific or varied diseases and experience challenges faced when working in different phases of drug development (phases I to IV). You will also have the opportunity to contribute towards introducing new innovations to drive efficiencies and to the “upskill” of RWD&A and staff across the Biostatistics function with regards to adapting innovation philosophy.  
You’ll spend first 8 months in an area where you will be exposed about high level idea of drug development and Clinical development plan, then will be in a Therapeutic Area gaining Real world data experience in a more detail fashion. You will be exposed to complex RW Databases, different programming tools, Epidemiological concepts, clinical domain, and project management skills. Subsequent rotations of 8 months each would be in different functions of RWD&A aligned to different Therapeutic areas to get a flavour of intricacies within it. Our work is diverse and challenging with the common goal to advance the science of human health.

A day in the life of RWD&A FLP:

• You will be analysing complex RWD to generate rapid, scalable insights throughout the product life cycle to aid in decision making.
• You will collaborate with experts in analysing Real world data and epidemiologist in generating insight to progress medicines through drug development.
• You will receive training in application of Real-World Data methodologies and other programming languages and then asked to apply your newly acquired skills for hands on application in exploring and analysing RWD to answer business and scientific questions.
• You will leverage comprehensive knowledge in the unique challenges of Real-World Data (RWD) to design, develop, and implement analytical strategies, aiming to generate appropriate real-world evidence through accurate interpretation of results.
• You will strengthen the scientific methods and merit of non-interventional studies by providing statistical and programming support.
• You may also explore data analytics and visualizations to improve presentation and interpretation of results.
• You will become familiar with industry-wide best practice and help to define and support the use of standards across the Biostatistics function
• You will be encouraged to consider opportunities for the introduction of innovative approaches to improve standard processes. For example, increasing the use of automation for routine tasks and the application of machine learning to drive efficiencies and enable better focus resources.
• You will help drive capability development across RWD&A to adapt & apply analytical innovations in generating insights using RWD.
