The opportunity:

Bring your passion for driving People & Culture (P&C) initiatives and join us as a Business Partner, where you'll work closely with business units to deliver strategic P&C support. This role offers a dynamic environment where you can make a significant impact by driving robust people strategies and providing pragmatic ER solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the delivery of pragmatic, expert advice on complex employment relations matters, including performance management, grievances, and disputes. 

  • Developing and driving tailored people plans for assigned business units to align with organisational goals. 

  • Proactively managing employee relations, including industrial relations, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation. 

  • Supporting leaders with change management, talent acquisition, health & safety, and organisational design initiatives. 

  • Coaching and influencing leaders and teams to effectively apply P&C tools and resources. 

  • Embedding key initiatives such as diversity and inclusion, leadership development, and employee engagement. 

  • Building trusted relationships across the organisation to position HR as a proactive partner. 

  • Leading or contributing to projects that advance business and P&C objectives. 

  • Inspiring others and role modeling company values to foster a positive and inclusive workplace.

Ideally, you’ll bring

  • ER expertise: Extensive experience managing employment relations cases, including performance issues, disputes, and disciplinary matters. 

  • Legislative knowledge: A deep understanding of NZ employment legislation and its practical application. 

  • Strong communication skills: The ability to engage, influence, and build trust with stakeholders at all levels. 

  • Proven decision-making ability: Confidence in handling complex situations and making sound recommendations. 

  • Change leadership: Experience managing organisational change and supporting leaders through transitions. 

  • Analytical acumen: Proficiency in using data and metrics to inform decisions and track outcomes. 

  • HR BP experience: A strong background in partnering with business units, ideally in financial services or a similar environment. 

  • High attention to detail: The ability to balance competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines.

  • Engagement expertise: You have a solid understanding of Gallup or similar engagement methodologies, and you know how to foster a thriving workplace.
