JOB DESCRIPTION
In this position, interns will utilize and develop their basic knowledge of Lean deployment to help to design, analyze, and improve a Continuous Improvement oriented culture. Ability to become a highly effective communicator and leader. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In this position, interns will utilize and develop their basic knowledge of Lean deployment to help to design, analyze, and improve a Continuous Improvement oriented culture
- The Continuous Improvement Intern will be tasked with the responsibility of improving the seat assembly processes in order to maximize efficiency and throughput
- Lean Manufacturing
- Through project based work, assist CI team to drive implementation of Lean activities and development of a continuous improvement focused culture
- Participate in 5s activities, audits, and structured kaizen events
- Conduct time studies, reviews standard work instructions, and contribute to waste identification for manufacturing processes
- Part presentation design and implementation
- Provide support in problem solving activities in the process
- Assist and support with projects, initiatives, and continuous improvement activities
- Participate in a cross-functional team discussions and reviews
- Work closely with different team members
Other position requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and working towards a 4-year B.S. degree in manufacturing, engineering, or business (with interest towards mfg).
- Minimum overall GPA of at least 3.0.
- Solid analytical skills and work effectively with customers, suppliers, and the development team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail, organization skills and follow up
- Proficient in MS Office
