As an Associate, Trade Compliance supporting Alcon’s Global Trade Compliance team, you will be trusted to work on Alcon's trade compliance master data elements and import/export transactions in Mexico City.


In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Determining import/export classification (HTS/ECCN) of Alcon products and 3rd party products being imported/exported to support Alcon business globally.
  • Maintaining additional master data elements such as US FDA and PGA codes, Health Canada license information, and EU import/export measures that correspond to HS codes in the system of record.
  • Ensuring fast and compliant broker entry filings by providing transactional support to customs brokers and stakeholder(s), efficiently working in Alcon’s trade compliance systems, and proactively communicating with stakeholders to obtain the necessary information for assigning HTS/ECCN codes and maintaining relevant OGA/PGA data.
  • Assisting with the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Alcon’s global trade compliance program & broker management.
  • Providing analytical support for projects, new business opportunities, and proposals.


WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 years; Associate degree +4 years).
  • 2+ years of confirmed experience.
  • Knowledge of US FDA and PGA codes, Health Canada license information, and EU import/export measures regulation.
  • Comprehensive experience classifying items using the GRIs.
  • Experience researching government rulings for classification justification and documenting classification supporting logic.
  • Familiarity with SAP and GTS is a plus.
  • Strong data analytic skills.
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • Availability to travel up to 5%.
