As Manager Indirect Tax, you will provide VAT guidance to Pan-European business organizations, including the ITC VAT Compliance group, on their VAT, Intrastat and sales listings compliance process ensuring sound processes around VAT reporting. 

What you will do:

  • Support commercial teams on day-to-day business activities including assistance with tax functionalities in core and partner systems. 
  • Monitor and pro-actively identify possible Indirect Tax risks and opportunities for streamlining and improving indirect tax processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. 
  • Support and resolve VAT audits and inquiries from tax authorities within EMEA and Canada region. 
  • Maintain contacts with Tax authorities and communicate with external VAT advisors for compliance and advisory matters. 
  • Participates in the development and implementation of tax strategy.  
  • Identify and implement Indirect Tax planning opportunities to maximize global tax efficiency/minimize the global Indirect Tax burden of the Company within the EMEA and Canada region.   
  • Participate as VAT stakeholder during business projects (ensure timely and effective Go-Lives)
  • Manage mapping, set up & maintenance of business processes in various ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, JDE), ensuring procedures/controls are compliant with VAT. Liaise with business partners to achieve implementation of required changes. 
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies that can improve indirect tax processes. 
  • Collaborate with IT teams and/or external system developers to translate business/tax requirements into technical solutions, as well as to test, implement and enhance tax technology solutions for automation and efficiency. 
  • Build and foster strong working relationships with Business Unit Tax Support colleagues and cross-functional departments.
  • Develop, manage and maintain Standard Operating Procedures. 
  • Work with local finance and SSC teams to ensure transactions are reflected properly.  

What you will need:

Required:

  • University degree or equivalent plus 6+ years’ experience in a Big 4 or multinational organization
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail i
  • Ability to make important decisions based on the analysis of information.
  • Good communication and persuasion skills
  • Ability to communicate complex issues to non-tax professionals with different backgrounds. 

Preferred:

  • Experience with clients/projects relating to international trade, e.g. dealing with cross-border supplies, chain transactions, etc. is considered a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferable SAP, JDE and Vertex) and affinity with technology solutions.
