Intro and job overview: 

As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you will be a key member of the Corporate Revenue Accounting team. You will have month end and quarter end closing activities as well as be involved in various projects and initiatives. You will report to the Director of Corporate Revenue Accounting, routinely interacting with cross-functional and global teams in the organization.

You are an experienced Senior Revenue Accountant with 5+ years of accounting experience. You have direct experience supporting internal customers, strong communication skills and analytical experience, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and manage to deadlines. You possesses strong technical revenue accounting knowledge, and you are genuinely interested in and excited about mentoring and coaching junior accountants.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Prepare deal reviews packages including revenue allocations, performing agreement review, and concluding on the propriety of revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Prepare other analyses as needed to ensure the accuracy of revenue in financial statements and disclosures
  • Build strong collaborative working relationships with internal and external teams (Order management, Legal, Deal Desk, FP&A) with a focus on driving efficiencies and improving levels of service.
  • Participate in key projects and initiatives as SME to ensure the team’s departmental requirements and objectives are met.
  • Interface with Internal and External Audit on revenue related issues.
  • Provide revenue accounting guidance to Deal Desk, Product, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain an understanding of the company products and programs (new and existing) relative to their impact on revenue transactions and the application of ASC 606
  • Identify, track and perform monthly/quarterly deal related journal entries
  • As need, research and provide technical accounting guidance for revenue recognition
  • Provide support in various projects associated with the evolution and expansion of the Company’s route to market (product and service offerings and pricing)
  • Participate in the execution and remediation for testing activities during the implementation lifecycle, including UAT scoping, scenario definition, data validation, and execution of testing
  • Provide ad-hoc support as required including for month-/ quarter-end close process and various projects
  • Manage own time and deadlines appropriately.  Accurately determine task duration and dependencies for own assignments.  Communicate status updates to manager on a regular basis
  • Systems supported primarily include NetSuite, ARM, Blackline and Salesforce

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Detailed understanding of ASC 606 and working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Proficient in researching accounting literature and performing technical analysis
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively, with consistent adherence to deadlines
  • Ability to plan out projects/tasks into clearly defined executable steps
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications and other productivity tools
  • Bonus points: Experience working with NetSuite and NetSuiteARM
  • Bonus points: Experience with Alteryx and similar analysis/automation tools preferred

Preferred Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • CPA license and/or Master’s Degree (accounting or finance) preferred
  • Requires practical knowledge of job area obtained through advanced education combined with experience
  • 2-3 years of current or previous Big 4 or National Tier public accounting firm audit experience desireable
