The Cash & Trade Proc Intmd Analyst is an intermediate level role responsible for ensuring transactions are processed accurately and on time in coordination with the Transaction Services team. The overall objective is to research, conduct analyses, and resolve issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Create customized transaction services reports based on data analysis
  • Monitor and research errors to ensure adherence to audit and control policies
  • Resolve transaction services issues and use technical expertise/ judgment to conduct complex analysis
  • Anticipate and respond to requests for transaction deliverables from internal and external clients and vendors
  • Develop and recommend strategic decisions based off in-depth comprehension of how the Cash & Trade operations team interacts with others business unites in accomplishing objectives
  • Assist with providing informal guidance or on-the-job-training to new team members as required
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in a related role within trade / cash operations management
  • Effective verbal and written skills

  • Effective relationship management skills
  • Expert level proficiency in Windows, MS Project, and MS Office Suite


Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience

BUSINESS OVERVIEW

Mexico Trade Operations is a key unit within the Global Trade Operations, with servicing responsibilities for a group of trade products (Trade Working Capital Solutions, Trade Loans, and Core Trade) supporting several Citigroup businesses.  Global Trade Operations offer world class trade services in over 70 markets around the globe. The Mexico-based organization supports Mexican clients as initiators of transactions to counterparties in other Global Regions, as well as completing transactions to our clients that emanate from Citigroup branches in other Regions. The Organization provides our corporate clients with transaction preparation, processing and customer service. In striving to achieve high quality delivery, the organization works closely with business partners and internal servicers. A significant focus on risk & control, customer service and quality is practice at the transaction and process levels. Trade Operations creates, promotes and supports products and services to help clients better manage their trade flows and maximize the success of their business. Trade Mexico is a key business in TTS, with a large operational footprint in branches throughout the region.

ROLE MAIN PURPOSE:

Support transactional processing for respective Supply Chain Finance products, in compliance with international, U.S. Latam and or Mexican regulations and standards. Review documents for internal consistency and compliance with governmental documentary regulations and import/export restrictions

ORGANIZATIONAL CHART

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide checker role for transactional processing support for respective Trade Payables/Receivables products.
  • Examine documents for processing Trade Payables/Receivable products
  • Provide creative solutions to reduce errors and to ensure adherence to audit and control policies
  • Provide back-up coverage for team members and assist team members during high volume periods
  • Utilize technical knowledge in order to deliver quality service and achieve operating efficiency
  • Participate in activities related to compliance with procedures and control
  • Maintain awareness of product, policy and system enhancements changes
  • Ensure attendance at mandatory classes
  • Daily Management of in-process, pended, and service related activities, ensuring the processing in timely and accurate manner, and dispatching or delivery of very high quality service to our customers and internal partners
  • Demonstrated competence in related area
  • Participates in system and client testing, implementation and trainings if needed.
  • Perform within departmental procedures and compliance standards in order to minimize losses to the Firm
  • Execute moderate to complex transactions
  • Assist with special reports, projects as needed and provide feedback.
  • Perform Management Control Assessment (MCA) to identify operational risks and document specific weaknesses in the design or monitoring methods.
  • Strong  problem solving and analytical skills
  • Must be able to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment and support other Units as required

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Excellent communicator (written and oral), fluent in English and Spanish is a must
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience on Trade Operations/Processes and/or Products.
  • Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Advanced skills in MS Office preferred.
