Position Summary

Reports to the Manager of Financial Operations and will oversee accounts receivable and payable financial transactions, reimbursements and operations and serve as the primary backup to the Manager of Financial Operations for oversight of daily departmental non-compensation related financial operations. Position scope includes oversight of accounts payable and receivable transactions, Procard compliance, recharge center financials, non-compensation financial transaction workflow oversight and approvals.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides day-to-day oversight of financial transactions, including assignment to at least one accounting assistant assuring proper coding and documentation of all expenditures.
  • Responsible for system approvals of non-payroll transactions on unrestricted funds, projects, recharge centers, gift and endowment accounts, check requests, purchase orders, subcontract payments, interdepartmental invoices, travel reports and travel advances, procurement card transactions, journal entries and wire transfers. Trains and assists staff with the duties listed above.
  • Serves as primary contact and manager of recharge center financials including completing rate analysis annually, checking funds and balances, overseeing billing and invoicing, etc.
  • Oversees Procard use and Procard holders. Assists Manager of Financial Operations with insurance claim accounts, invoices, payments, etc.
  • Maintains a thorough up-to-date knowledge of university policies and procedures, as well as Uniform Guidance cost allowability regulations. Facilitates financial processes to ensure efficient, accurate and timely completion of all transactions by self and staff.
  • Participates in budget meetings and budget preparation, as needed.
  • Serves as primary backup Manager of Financial Operations for non-compensation department needs. Duties may include approving expense reports, internal service delivery charges, supplier invoices, checking funds balances and budgets, completing accounting adjustments and journals, etc.

Salary Range

$49,700.00 - $82,100.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
