Job Summary:

The Staff Attorney II works closely with other members of the Legal team; performs legal work for, and provides legal advice to, business clients at the direction of more senior attorneys on the CareSource Legal team; independently handles legal projects and assignments with oversight by more senior attorneys on the CareSource Legal team. The responsibilities and functions may include, but are not limited to, those tasks listed below.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide day-to-day legal support to the Office of General Counsel.
  • Monitor and report on legal and regulatory developments impacting Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and Tricare plans.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on a variety legal and regulatory issues and prepare legal memorandums for clients and legal team. Draft and/or review and revise legal documents including contracts, company policies, procedures, and other internal corporate documents.
  • Assist with resolving legal disputes involving the company.

Education and Experience:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited college/university is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience practicing law at a law firm or in-house corporate environment is required.
  • Experience in healthcare and/or managed care law, in particular government programs, is preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across a matrixed environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Word
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Excellent time/project management, organizational skills, and prioritization skills

Licensure and Certification:

  • Current, unrestricted Attorney license is required

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

Compensation Range:

$90,500.00 - $158,400.00
