As a member of the Legal Team, the Legal Assistant will primarily provide support for the attorneys, with a focus on litigation; assist with day-to-day department needs and liaison regularly with cross-department partners.

Position Responsibilities & Essential function

  • Assist attorneys with discovery, document preservation, and subpoena responses.
  • Draft routine correspondence and serve as a liaison to support litigation and other legal functions including, but not limited to, risk management, contract enforcement, ethics, and bankruptcy.    
  • Assist in preparing legal reports.
  • Review, process, and maintain customer and vendor agreements, including services, licensing, and other strategic business agreements to support dispute resolution and enhance customer delivery.    
  • Work directly with cross-functional teams to intake and help resolve contractual issues. 
  • Facilitate cross-functional decision making and a be trusted-advisor with a collaborative team approach among internal and external business partners.
  • Manage administrative duties to advocate for the legal team and serve as the single point of contact for internal approvals.
  • Act as a liaison with outside counsel, internal departments, and vendors as needed regarding the payment of invoices.
  • Assist in the analysis of the Legal Department’s expenditures.
  • Maintain litigation budget which includes, tracking expenses incurred by the Legal Department and processing all invoices, orders, agreements and other obligations for payment.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or 2-3+ years law firm and/or in-house legal team experience
  • Experience in litigation
  • Strong organizational skills, a detail-oriented personality, and the ability to clearly and effectively communicate internally and with prospective clients.
  • Independently manage and prioritize multiple tasks or workload deadlines with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment based upon internal and external time frames.
  • Strong problem solving and research skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, especially the ability to effectively communicate in cross functional situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other office technology (eg. Sharepoint)

Hourly Rate: $26.00 - $36.00 + Benefits
