Job Summary
The Brand Strategy team’s mission is to build the Xfinity brand through brand strategy, identity, positioning, messaging, and planning. We ensure clear and consistent understanding of the role of the Xfinity brand in peoples’ lives among employees, partners, and consumers. We are a key partner and input to all areas of the organization, uniquely positioned at the intersection of our product experience, business imperatives, and marketing communications.
The Director of Brand Identity and Design will support best-in-class development, implementation, and governance of the Xfinity brand and design across all teams and touchpoints. This critical role will be responsible for developing, owning, and implementing the Xfinity visual identity through product support, marketing communications, and all brand identity extensions, including animation, sonic, and environmental branding as well as key marketing and campaign design.
The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker, a self-starter, and an excellent communicator driven by a genuine curiosity and passion for building brands people love.
This role is onsite 4 days a week, 5 as needed.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Brand Identity and Design Development:
- Responsible for the Xfinity visual identity, including development and maintenance of Brand Guidelines and all of Xfinity’s foundational brand assets including logos, color, typography, iconography, photography, sonic identity, and all brand identity extensions
- Partner with teams across the organization to lead product and program branding, develop toolkits and guidelines with associated assets
- Partner with marketing partners to define visual approach, guidelines and toolkits for key campaigns and moments
- Proactively identify new opportunities to elevate and extend the Xfinity brand identity, including vendor selection, management, stakeholder reviews and sell in
- Pressure test and codify best practices to bring the Xfinity brand to life across every touchpoint, including internal branding, product experiences, and marketing communications
- Extend and evangelize Xfinity’s brand personality, including developing an evolved guidelines to drive clear, consistent, and distinctive communications across touchpoints
- Lead brief, production planning, and implementation for all brand Photoshoots, including development and maintenance of all Photography assets
- Oversee brand strategy budget
Brand Identity Implementation:
- Lead new Brand identity rollout to ensure best-in-class, consistent, on-brand expression across every touchpoint
- Drive brand compliance with marketing agencies, internal design teams, sales, product, and executive leadership to champion on-brand executions
- Steward visual identity evolution for priority channels and customer touchpoints – partnership, signage, Retail, Fleet, Uniforms, customer communications, etc.
- Translate Visual Identity for key partnerships and activations such as Olympics and NASCAR, including asset and guideline creation, management, and governance
- Support new channel transformations, including dotcom, Xfinity app, retail, and environmental branding
- Lead development, design, and implementation of new Xfinity Brand Hub as a dynamic, digital resources for all Xfinity brand assets and messaging
- Maintain all tools, resources, and communications channels (e.g., monthly Brand Newsletter) to drive ongoing awareness, engagement, and understanding of the Xfinity brand
Skills and Experience
- Bring 8 - 10 years of proven leadership experience in brand identity management, advertising agency experience is a plus
- Exceptional partnership and collaboration skills, must be able to work seamlessly with cross functional teams and partners
- Leadership presence, ability to interface and influence all levels of the organization
- Passion for branding and design, with incredibly attention to detail
- Operational rigor and discipline, ability to develop, implement and maintain processes, standards and assets
- Impeccable written and verbal communication, must be a master of presentation applications (Keynote, PowerPoint)
- Proactive, self-starter with agility and flexibility to adapt to changing requests in a fast-paced environment
- Follows through to ensure that deadlines are met and deliverables meet specifications
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
