We have a fantastic and interesting opportunity to join Santander as a Business Analyst within our Payments Industry Oversight team, working with our Faster Payments (Service).

Payments Industry Oversight is responsible for ensuring that Santander UK continues to deliver a compliant customer experience through a rapidly changing payments landscape. With regulation driving change and innovation, both internally and externally, the team is leading the way on exciting challenges and new ways of helping our customers.


As a Business Analyst in the team, you will provide subject matter expertise and support for deliverables and projects; your primary focus will be on regulatory, industry and internal strategic change that support the best outcomes for our customers.

The difference you’ll make:

  • Supporting and monitoring projects; delivering change through a number of methodologies, ensuring that the customer experience is of a high standard whilst maintaining any regulatory or compliance demands
  • Preparing and delivering presentations and delivery to support communication and decision-making at various levels of the organisation
  • Reporting and managing Programme Risk for FPS – Identifying, escalating. and mitigating as necessary
  • Providing support to and representing the FP Product Team internally and externally ensuring our product is not compromised or in direct conflict with our priorities
  • Ensuring technical and business requirements are met; keeping abreast of Industry developments and trends
  • Analysing and reviewing for evaluation the business processes to identify opportunities for improvement, innovation, and efficiencies

What you’ll bring:

These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:

  • Previous experience as a Business Analyst within a Payments environment
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with an ability to synthesise information and develop powerful insights and solutions
  • Experience of solving complex business problems and translating these into clear action plans
  • Excellent communication & stakeholder management skills with the ability to speak, write and present convincingly at varying levels within an organisation
  • Excellent organisational skills to support the progress and implementation across multiple projects

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Uses all available channels and mechanisms to effectively to communicate to all employees across the bank
  • Have experience of working in agile, including an awareness of agile tools and how to use them (such as JIRA and Confluence)
  • A clear understanding of Payments, flows, and structures, this could be gained across any number of Payment Schemes, ie; BACS, Chaps etc
  • Demonstrate a customer centric approach to problem solving

What else you need to know:

This role is based in our Milton Keynes office.

To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).
