The Fin Solutions Group Manager is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Leads and directs a team of professionals. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects a sub-function. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.
Responsibilities:
- Contributes to the design, roll-out and governance of financial solutions, including:
- Participates in formulating and setting strategic direction for the process, organization and architecture covering Finance across Citi businesses, products, functions and locations
- Assists in setting business and information architecture standards for Finance
- Plays a part in settling and operating necessary forums and frameworks to establish and govern policies and starts for global Finance processes
- Participates in assessing and incorporating changing business, regulatory and market information needs into finance processes and applications
- Manages complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas.
- Leads and directs a team of professionals.
- Applies in-depth knowledge of the business impact of process design and technical contributions.

- Regularly interacts with peers within the firm and externally, including regulators and professional organizations.
- Provides advice to internal clients on the implications of business trends, issues, operating environment changes and firm or business unit strategy.

- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of relevant experience, within the financial services industry highly preferred
- Requires a comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the goals of the function.
- Requires communication and diplomacy skills in order to guide and influence others.
- Experience and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions.
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills
- In depth knowledge of banking products / systems highly preferred.
- CPA preferred
- Advanced English
Education:
- Bachelors degree, potentially Masters degree preferred
The Accounting, Ledger & Close (AL&C) Transformation Initiative has been established under the wider Citi Finance Transformation and comprises three pillars - Accounting, Ledgers and Close, and associated global platforms, processes, and governance. The program includes standardizing and reducing risk across current financial books & records processes and establishing the next iteration of ledger strategy to adopt and implement global standard SaaS accounting and ledger platforms. The outcome will be a robust global process, governance, and controls to ensure consistent and materially accurate, complete, and timely ledger data and financial results.
The AL&C Transformation Process Lead Analyst will deliver on Citi’s Finance Transformation priorities (particularly Consent Order milestones and deliverables). This is a dynamic role with a global scope and provides vertical cross-product exposure. The ideal candidate is a strategic professional who has solid communication (verbal and written) with strong presentation and senior stakeholder management skills.
A solutions mindset, flexibility and diplomacy skills are required to guide / influence others in a highly matrixed environment to achieve both regulatory and business strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the execution and roll-out of Accounting, Ledger & Close governance processes (with a focus on the monthly and daily close processes), including:
- Manage day-to-day operations and support the implementation of CO milestones partnering alongside the milestone owners; working with different stakeholders across businesses and functions to drive execution.
- Support various other transformation initiatives and enterprise standards such as CEAM (Enterprise Business Architecture), MCA and Data Transformation
- Act as Policy Execution Lead to multiple stakeholders and /or other team members
- Participate in formulating and setting strategic direction for the process & controls, organization, and architecture across lines of businesses, products, functions, and locations.
- Provide program management support for the overall AL&C Consent Order Action plan on behalf of the milestone owners in partnership with Finance Transformation PMOs and COO (Chief Operating Office)
- Prepare AL&C program communications, executive updates, and presentations for senior management (including product owners, Lines of Businesses, operations, technology and lines of defenses such as internal audit, compliance).
Qualifications:
- 7-10 years of relevant experience, within the financial services industry preferred
- Previous experience in Finance and/or Accounting
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills; particularly strong Excel and PowerPoint skills with experience in taking complex concepts and condensing them into palatable visuals
- Has the ability to drive discussions, implement solutions and provide insights with limited support
- Requires strong communication and influencing skills
- Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy
- Experience and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment
