About itrek
itrek launched in 2011 with a mission to empower leaders to engage their networks in meaningful Israel experiences, fostering an understanding and appreciation of Israel’s unique culture, diversity, richness and complex reality. More than 25,000 graduate students representing 130 nationalities from schools in the U.S., Canada and Europe have traveled to Israel through itrek. Over the last two years, itrek has expanded beyond graduate school students by piloting Launchpad, a program that connects with mission aligned leaders and organizations to create Israel Treks for their influential peers and members. In July 2024, Schusterman Family Philanthropies REALITY journeys was brought under itrek. REALITY will continue to bring leaders from diverse backgrounds and sectors on formative learning journeys to Israel.
Position Overview
itrek seeks a dynamic Development Associate (DA) to join our growing Development team. Reporting to the Director of Development & Institutional Giving (DODIG), this position offers the opportunity to be an integral member of the Development team, managing a variety of essential tasks including supporting the moves management process for organizational leaders and frontline fundraisers, administering the grants calendar and communications, assisting with events, and contributing to prospect research efforts. Primary Responsibilities
Donor Relations & Development Team Support
- Support the CEO, Chief Growth Officer (CGO), and Director of Development & Institutional Giving (DODIG) to effectively steward their donor portfolios, managing high-priority development-related correspondence and follow-ups. This includes donor communications via email and phone.
- Schedule and participate in weekly meetings with the CEO, CGO, and DODIG to stay aligned on donor communications and action items, ensuring consistent progress.
- Assist the Major Gifts Officers with targeted tasks, ensuring smooth coordination and impactful donor interactions including but not limited to: donor communications, prep and follow-up for donor meetings and tracking relevant life-cycle occurrences.
- Support the planning and execution of fundraising events, contributing to event logistics and providing tailored prospect research to enhance outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and organized donor records in project management tools and CRM systems, tracking communications and milestones to uphold accountability and excellence.
- Collaborate on storytelling efforts by drafting donor impact stories for emails, newsletters, social media, or reports.
- Join the CGO, DODIG, and CEO on select prospect and supporter meetings to actively engage with key stakeholders, gain invaluable insights into high-level fundraising strategies, and play a pivotal role in cultivating impactful donor relationships
- Collaborate on team-wide campaigns and stewardship initiatives, playing a key role in advancing the department's collective fundraising goals.
- Provide administrative and operational support as needed to ensure the Development Team operates efficiently and effectively.
Prospect Research & Meeting Support
- Conduct thorough research on current and potential supporters, delivering actionable insights to inform strategic fundraising efforts.
- Prepare high-quality materials for development-related meetings, including donor biographies, profiles, and relevant background information to optimize engagement.
Profile and Qualifications
- A minimum of 2+ years of professional experience, including roles requiring strong oral and written communication; exposure to non-profit development function and/or philanthropic work is strongly preferred
- Passion for itrek’s mission
- Skilled at multitasking; able to organize, manage, prioritize, and execute responsibilities in the face of conflicting priorities or unexpected situations
- Customer service mindset with excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively present information to major donors, foundation professionals, top management, and staff
- Ability to synthesize information and adapt messaging to a range of audiences
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proactive and self-driven, while also able to collaborate across teams
- Excitement to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, committed team
- Prior experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM preferred

Salary range $60,000 - $65,000; commensurate with experience
