An advocate for modern work practices, concepts, and techniques to optimize Vanguard Personal Investor's “System of Work” to deliver world class client experiences and product offerings that delight our clients and improve their desired outcomes. 

The Agile Coach is responsible for helping product families perform by instilling methodologies and behaviors through coaching, improving the flow of value delivery and championing continuous improvement. The Agile Coach has a deep understanding of Digital Product Management, Product Operations, Flow Metrics and processes, adding new value and perspective. 
 

Responsibilities: 

  • Champion implementation of methodologies across families, at all levels of the portfolio, partnering with counterparts with a high level of collaboration, scaling methodologies beyond individual teams 
  • Help product families set meaningful goals and metrics to measure their progress and success, enabling product families to analyze and leverage data to inform product decisions. 
  • Support continuous improvement through enabling streamlined product development (e.g., reducing bottlenecks, improve communication, ensuring timely delivery of products, etc.) 
  • Foster experimentation, encouraging families to try new approaches, learn from failures, and iterate on their processes. 
  • Promote self-organization, collaboration, and improved product family dynamics. 
  • Train and mentor product families (e.g., facilitate workshops, trainings, help families activate and enhance Operating Rhythm Events) 
  • Provide guidance on Agile practices for the organization, including creating training materials and other support as needed. 
  • Identify challenges and opportunities for product families and key roles (e.g., Product Owner, Product Manager, Chapter Lead, Scrum Lead, Tech Lead, Senior Tech Lead, Senior Product Owner, UX) and active coaching plans accordingly. 
  • Guide families through implementation and utilization of tools supporting continuous improvement efforts (e.g. Planview, Jira, Tableau, etc.) 
  • Assist product families in optimizing workflows, reducing waste, and enhancing value delivery (e.g., through Initiative/Capability/Epic/Flow review refinement, minimizing work in progress, retrospectives, etc.) 
  • Assess agile maturity, evaluating how well product families are adopting frameworks and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Adapt coaching to the organization and product families as applicable. 
  • Develops and manages effective working relationships with internal clients and key collaborators. 
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. 

 Qualifications 

  • Minimum of five years related work experience with progressive responsibility required. 
  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred. 
  • Process improvement certification (i.e. Pro Kanban, Agile Alliance, Scrum.org, PMIACP, Six Sigma certification, McKinsey Lean training) preferred. Ability to obtain certification within 1 year period required.
