We are currently seeking students in data science, computer science, applied math, economics, or engineering curriculums to fill an internship at our Headquarters facility in Springfield, Missouri within the enterprise risk department of our Executive division. This position offers part-time employment during spring and fall semesters with the opportunity for full-time during the summer. Normal working days are Monday through Friday.

 

What you’ll be doing:

·         Assisting in the location and acquisition of information about historical frequencies of events that influence risk probabilities for the Cooperative.

·         Analyzing trends and looking for patterns and correlations that will inform risk mitigation strategies.

·         Simple visualization of the data to illustrate conclusions.

·         Assisting in development of metrics to quantify the levels of risk posed by various future scenarios as well as measure the reduction in risk realized by the implementation of mitigation strategies.

·         Helping to maintain and expand our digital platform (Auditboard) to document risks and their mitigation.

 

What you’ll need:

·         Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, computer science, applied math, or economics and be enrolled in school at the time of the internship.

·         Research and data management skills preferred.

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

·         Experience with programs such as Excel and PowerBI, as well as R, Python, or other statistical software is desired.
