What you'll be doing:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Planning and Coordination

  • Oversee the Portland logistics and daily operations, including logistics, production, warehousing, inventory management, supply chain processes, shipping, and returns processes, to meet company targets.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies & processes to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

Team Management

  • Supervise and manage a team of warehouse staff, shipper and receivers (, providing leadership, coaching, and support to optimize team performance.
  • Provide Portland site lead duties

Cost Management

  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational success and make data-driven improvements.
  • Strategize on cost-reduction techniques and optimize logistics operations to reduce expenses

Continuous Improvement

  • Continuously seek improvements in logistics processes and align with global rollouts and infrastructure teams

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS NEEDED:

Education:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to improve operational efficiency, minimize delays, and resolve any production or shipping issues.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on process improvements and operational strategies.
  • Supporting the Portland Site
    • Employee/Site advocate
    • Ensure compliance with local laws, practices and regulations
    • Assess/Evaluate/Improve working conditions
    • Manage vendor relationships
    • Focus on employee engagement
    • Leader to liaison with the business and employees
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience:

  • Proven 5 - 10 years’ experience in logistics, production, and shipping management, preferably within the healthcare/medical device industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance in medical devices is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment, handle operational challenges with an ability to work independently, and cross-functionally as needed.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, able to build network across global organization and different business lines including those outside own department.
  • Must have good time management and be able to prioritize tasks. 
  • Strong presence with the ability to interact with senior leadership and clients. 
  • High attention to details, deadlines and strong follow through with minimal direction.  
  • Must be dependable, and flexible to work additional hours as needed. 
  • Familiarity with computer databases, spreadsheets, Google Suites, and Microsoft Office. ERP experience is strongly preferred.  
  • Good presentation skills and professional approach.
