Position Summary
The Metrics and KPI Reporting Staff Security Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining metrics and key performance indicator (KPI) reports and dashboards. This role requires strong technical skills in data management, visualization, and reporting tools, as well as a deep understanding of the KPIs that drive organizational success. This role also requires experience with collaborating with cross-functional key stakeholders to collect, normalize and visualize comprehensive reports to support proactive risk remediation.
Key Responsibilities
Metrics and KPI Design & Development
Define and develop metrics and KPIs in collaboration with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals.
Design, build, and maintain automated reporting solutions using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
Develop data models and establish relationships within reporting systems to support complex metrics.
Data Management & ETL
Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources to create and maintain metrics and KPI dashboards.
Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and quality through thorough testing and validation processes.
Maintain data pipelines and automate workflows for efficient data processing.
Partner with business continuity, disaster recovery and regulatory compliance to gather crucial contextual risk information to generate risk-based remediation prioritization reports.
Performance Monitoring & Analysis
Continuously monitor metrics and KPI performance, analyze trends, and provide actionable insights.
Develop and maintain dashboards that offer real-time updates and historical data analysis.
Proactively identify issues and anomalies in metrics and KPIs and coordinate with relevant teams for resolution.
Collaboration & Communication
Collaborate with Vulnerability Management, Cloud Security, IT and Infrastructure stakeholders to collect contextual risk information.
Translate complex data concepts and insights into easy-to-understand reports and presentations.
Deliver clear, concise reports to key stakeholders and senior leadership, providing guidance for decision-making.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and implement best practices.
Stay current on the latest industry trends and technologies in KPI reporting, data visualization, and business intelligence.
Document reporting processes and provide training as necessary to ensure organizational knowledge continuity.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in metrics and KPI reporting, data analysis, or a similar role.
5+ years of experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau or Looker)
5+ years of experience using SQL for data extraction and transformation
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift) and ETL tools (e.g., Alteryx, Informatica)
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, R)
Strong quantitative and analytical skills with an understanding of statistical analysis
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative environment
Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
Prior experience in a specific industry, such healthcare and technology
Certifications in BI and data analysis tools
Education
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$130,295.00 - $284,280.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
