Manager, Assembly & Test Supply Management, Global Indirect Materials

Job Description

As the ATSM Manager at Micron, you will lead the global teams to deliver the Indirect materials supply assurance for ATSM, leading a team of Supply Managers located at various sites.

In this role you will work with the leaders to develop and execute a holistic supply assurance strategy across all Assembly and manage implementation of this global strategy by establishing specific implementation timing, identifying required implementation resources and developing communication channels and tools to introduce the new strategy. In addition, you will develop and lead the teams to implement this strategy while maintaining day to day operational supply fulfillment activities.

You will co-lead and support the development of the improvement strategy by performing an assessment of current and future needs, an analysis of market and company trends, perform benchmarking of world-class approaches, and identify opportunities to leverage changes in processes, systems and product/services. Then prioritize and manage implementation at the sites based upon estimating timing and level of efficiency and savings captured.

Other responsibilities include ensuring sites’ compliance to company policies and departmental procedures. You will provide leadership at sites for building and implementing department strategies, processes, and policy through active oversight of your functional teams and projects, and mentor team members through collaboration and the development of sustainably successful solutions. You will also be responsible for conveying corporate business initiatives, aligning team and individual goals to business objectives, and driving overall high performance within your team and the department.

Participate and lead in functional process management and audit activities.

Role Responsibilities & Tasks

Build and Execute Strategic Business Improvement Plan  

  • Support Leaders to work with direct and cross-functional teams to plan global strategic direction of supply assurance for Assembly and Test manufacturing sites
  • Accountable for site Supply Assurance metrics. Recommend and deliver targets for Supply Assurance metrics, key metrics include DSL (Demand Service Level), SSA (Safety Stock Attainment), WOS (Weeks of Supply), OTD (On time Delivery), Fill Rate, Excess & Obsolescence and Buy Rule.
  • Support development of strategic plan for global supply assurance, manage the implementation of improvement strategies and lead in the resolution of any supply constraints or issues, including escalation management.
  • Build consensus on strategic plan and refine (as required)
  • Provide insights and drive on procurement initiatives and productivity improvement

Lead and Coach Supply Managers

  • ​Deploy leadership to guide and coach the ATSM Supply Managers on day to day operations
  • Establish performance and development goals for the ATSM Supply Managers
  • Engage the ATSM Supply Managers for strategic objective improvement
  • Cultivate learning behaviors to drive productivity improvement

Interface with Stakeholders, Procurement Partners, and Suppliers on Supply Assurance Strategies

  • Ensure stakeholder requirements are met with cost of ownership justification
  • Communicate strategic goals, supply fulfillment plans, initiatives and targets to stakeholders, suppliers, and global procurement teams
  • Maintain relationships with senior executives at sites
  • Initiate and sustain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders

Collaborate with Stakeholders to Deliver Strategic Solutions

  • ​Develop and maintain expertise in Supply Assurance through relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, and industry trends
  • Assist to implement or augment processes
  • Drive customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing Global Procurement
  • Maintain close interaction with procurement category teams to ensure holistic supply assurance approach
  • Manage conflict and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Education

Required:

Bachelors/Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in:
• Engineering
• Supply Chain Management/Planning
• Related field of study

Desired:

APICS, PMI, CPM, CPSM, or other related fields of study

Experience:

Qualification:

More than 10 years’ experience and demonstrated leadership in any of the following:
• Purchasing/Procurement
• Supply Chain CPM or CPSM Certification, or other Procurement certification preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and SAP ERP applications
