This is an exciting opportunity to join our Project and Process Management team where you will ensure that business projects are analyzed, implemented and managed as efficiently and professionally as possible, support Centrica Energy to its targets to grow the business and sustain a cost-effective operational platform.   

In this job position you will manage projects across the business and will, depending on the size of the projects, manage multiple projects simultaneously. You will be expected to utilize your strong communication skills to drive and manage change. If required, you will participate as a project member in a project. 

The role 

 

In this role you will manage cross-organizational projects. You will foster strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, spanning multiple geographies, to gather and represent diverse perspectives and to ensure their involvement in the projects while collaborating closely with project managers to seamlessly integrate change management activities into existing project plans.  

 

Key accountabilities: 

 

  • Provide leadership, direction and motivation to the project team.   

  • Ensure that projects are driven efficiently with respect to agreed time, scope and cost.  

  • Describe project business cases, capture data and define success metrics/KPIs to measure the effectiveness of change initiatives and ensure management approval.                     

  • Establish project governance and provide the project steerco with the information needed for them to guide the project and coaching managers on all levels in Project Management governance  

  • Prepare reports for upper management as needed regarding status of project.  

  • Identify and involve the right resources in the project.  

  • Ensuring that the needed documentation is made and maintained during the project and deliver a well-documented handover of improvement to operations.  

  • Evaluate project process and lessons learned.  

The successful candidate will work directly with the internal customer to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope of the project/task. You will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible.  

 

Sparring with rest of the COO team on process improvement points and key findings to drive the business toward utilizing agile methodologies is a big part of this role to proactively identify problems to be solved in the company front to back, and personally engage in the implementation of solutions for these.    

 

About You 

 

We are looking for a team member who has excellent organizational skills including attention to details and multi-tasking skills. It is important to be self-motivating, have great problem-solving skills and be willing to take on responsibility to drive change management.  

 

The ideal candidate has:  

 

  • Preferably a Master’s degree  

  • Significant commercial project management experience in a complex, dynamic and highly technical environment 

  • Project Management skills combined with a large “toolbox” (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2 etc.) to manage various challenges as they emerge.  

  • A good understanding of what it takes to drive and implement projects and change in a large organization.  

  • It would be an advantage but not a requirement to have a track record of implementation of cross-functional projects in a complex organization
