Summary:

Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education and assessment of clinical staff. The role of Senior Clinical Nurse Educator serves all aspects of nursing in the clinical setting: Educator, Consultant, Researcher, Facilitator, Change Agent, Leader.

Oncology experience REQUIRED.

Responsibilities:

Manages the onboarding and orientation of all new employees and students on assigned unit(s).Plans, updates, and evaluates clinical competencies to assess quality of patient care delivered and ensure regulatory compliance.Assists with developing specific departmental goal, standards and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.Serves as consultant/mentor/change agent to staff, clinical leaders, and others as appropriate.Conducts and/or contributes to nursing research.Synthesizes evaluation data to guide decision-making about educational programming.Conducts needs assessments using a variety of strategic tools.Disseminates research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement findings through activities such as presentations, publications, and consultation.Leads committee, work groups/and/or projects related to the implementation of educational activities.

Additional Job Information:

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Must be able to take a patient load as needed. Required Work Experience: Five (5) years nursing experience, two (2) years facilitating learning/professional development. Other Information: Specialty certification preferred.
