JOB OVERVIEW:

The Quality Material Compliance Specialist role leads the analysis, maintenance, and continuous improvement of food safety and quality parameters across one or more Van Drunen Farms finished good product lines. This position is responsible for directing a team toward the goal of optimizing product quality for a subset of Van Drunen Farms product types. The optimization of product quality will be achieved through a thorough understanding of supply chain dynamics, processing factors, and product requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Direct the quality‐related analysis, maintenance, and continuous improvement of one or more Van Drunen Farms finished good product lines  

· Lead a team within Quality Compliance toward the goal of optimizing product quality and efficiency within a subset of Van Drunen Farms product types

· Lead out‐of‐specification investigations, performing risk‐assessments on ingredients and finished product while assisting in RCA and CAPA evaluation

· Oversee production paperwork review program to ensure product will meet finished product specifications

· Evaluate non‐conformance incidents and generate appropriate documentation

· Track and evaluate trends of non‐conformances to provide feedback and recommendations on specification parameters and limits  

· Respond to internal and external inquiries as appropriate, including technical product questions    

                                                                                    

JOB EXPERIENCE:

· Three or more years quality assurance experience required

· Experience in root cause analysis and risk assessment preferred

· Experience in agriculture, food manufacturing, or dietary supplement Quality Assurance preferred

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

· Intelligent, organized, equanimous, detail‐oriented, good work ethic, positive attitude

· Strong prioritization and time‐management skills

· Ability to think critically and analytically

· Solid understanding of statistics and statistical analysis

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook

· Intermediate data analysis and reporting in Microsoft Excel (or comparable software) preferred

· Tech savvy and willing to learn new methods to apply computing to maximize departmental efficiency

EDUCATION:

· Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related discipline required (or equivalent industry experience)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· General office requirements, including lifting samples and documents with weight of less than 25 pounds.  

· The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

General office conditions. Candidate must remain flexible between corporate office environment and working remotely.
