Position Overview 

The HUMINT Policy Staff Officer will work as a contractor to support the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security Sensitive Activities & Special Programs (SASP).  

Work Location 

Pentagon, Arlington, VA 

Job Responsibilities and/or Success Factors 

  • Liaise with Defense HUMINT Executors (DHE) and DoD Components executing human intelligence collection and Military Source Operations to collect information, prepare reports, prepare briefings, and provide compliance assessments. 
  • Support the planning and execution of Staff Assistance Visits (SA V) to DHEs by coordinating schedules, providing read-ahead materials/checklists, and confirming all SA V detail with DH Es. 
  • Prepare briefings, talking points and recommended positions for meetings. 
  • Prepare staff packages for DoD leadership to respond to Congress for all 1-1 UM INT-related Questionable Intelligence Activities and/or Significant/Highly Sensitive Matters. 
  • Provide recommendations and prepare staff packages to support updates to DoD-level policies, the DoD Senior Defense Officer/Defense Attache (SDO/DA TI) program, and DoD interrogation activities. 

Education and Minimum Qualifications 

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI Clearance. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with policy development or policy analysis work within the Department of Defense. Relevant fields could include assessments, operational requirements and risk, or operational planning.  
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with policy development for DoD HUMINT operations. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with oversight activities, reviews, and reports of DoD HUMINT operations.
