The role:
The Transformation, Strategy & Planning Lead will be part of a newly formed horizontal Operations and & Technology (O&T) Transformation office, reporting into the Head of the O&T Transformation Office PMO. The O&T Transformation Office is a newly established organization responsible for providing oversight, standards and central reporting for the technology and operation components of Citi’s multi-year transformation programs organized into 6 distinct program groups. The team will be matrixed into the CAO Transformation office and the 3 Citi Operations and Technology sectors. The CAO Transformation office is organized around the 6 program groups and is accountable for management and oversight of large, complex programs that span technology and business deliverables. The O&T Transformation office will serve as hub to organize, report and status all the technology components of the plans.
This role will be responsible for organizing the team to complement the various transformation offices to create the right partnerships so that the group provides value-added services. The role will help plan the team’s deliverables and look across the 6 program groups’ end-to-end and help provide coordinate processes and own the planning activities for the department. The role will look at the overall progress of the plans to ensure Citi is progressing against the stated goals of each program.
In addition, this role will be responsible for providing a strategic lens over the activities to look for optimization opportunities, and help provide horizon reporting and story boards to be used with senior management and the CIO offices.
Responsibilities:
Your primary objective will be to ensure the successful delivery of large-scale complex projects starting with the OCC Consent Order.
Deputize for the O&T Transformation PMO, representing the global team in various leadership forums
Collaborate with the O&T Transformation leadership team to develop short terms plans and medium to long term roadmap for process improvement
Own, Oversee and prioritize various books of work initially relating to the OCC consent order
Partner with stakeholders to design robust processes and governance robust that proactively identify challenges and develop capability for preventative controls, as well as effective escalation and senior management discussion.
Provide leadership over project management execution, proactively overcoming challenges and driving timely delivery
Deliver strategic planning as well as critical presentations (often at board/exec level) partnering with stakeholders, ensuring appropriate syndication and approvals
Perform the necessary review, challenge and correction to status commentary for Red/Amber Milestones and Deliverables. Own Commitment and RBCM delivery for the OCC Consent Order.
Deploy best practice project management standards for on-time delivery, and early issue detection. Perform necessary forecasting to ensure we have zero surprises for when risks emerge or issues materialize
Ensure transparency and effective management, tracking, and escalation of issues, risks, and assumptions
Provide senior program / project status reporting across the broad book of work
Support senior management across O&T in the completion of ad-hoc regulatory and audit exercises e.g. provide first draft content and then collaborate to finalize submissions
Chair the working groups, ensuring that all contributing teams are aware of what’s required of them, that risks are actively managed before they become issues, and ensuring successfully delivery
Provide status reporting and updates at senior governance forums
Manage PMO resources to ensure that program management best practices and Citi standards are adhered to
Qualifications:
Experience of running complex, high profile, high impact projects/ programs from a Markets, COO or Finance team
Relevant experience in a leadership role, including people management
Relevant experience of managing regulatory change within Financial Services.
Experience in Technology, Middle Office or Operations, including Transformation desirable as is experience in Risk & Control and/or Audit.
Strong wholesale lending product knowledge with exposure to the Credit and Lending lifecycle management and end-to-end processes, operational procedures, control design and metrics, product processing platforms and booking models.
Delivered large scale transformation technology programs, involving organizational structures and processes.
Strong attention to detail with ability to distil complex ideas into clear and simple communication.
Demonstrate a consistent track record having worked as a Program or Project Manager, Lead, PMO or department head, managing teams and large, strategic cross-functional projects
Previous program/project management, consulting, technology and/or management
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Demonstrated internal and external negotiation skills
CAPM, PMP, PgMP and/or MBA are beneficial but not essential
