Northrop Grumman has a dynamic opportunity for a Principal/Sr Principal Financial Analyst! In this role, the analyst will be responsible for supporting financial audits, expenses monitoring against plan, support internal and external audits, and general accounting support. You will collaborate with internal customers and be involved in supporting government audits. This position is located on site in Clearfield, Utah with hybrid teleworking available. You will be expected to work on site in Clearfield, Utah a few days a week and the remainder of the week from home.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform and document analysis of monthly financial statements

  • Collaborate with the program finance team to development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long-Range Strategic Plan (LRSP)

  • Monitor and control investment funding including NCTA and Capital

  • Collaborate with financial reporting teams to ensure alignment and continuous improvement of the financial close process

  • Build and maintain relationships by communicating jointly developed projects, enhancements, and data requests

  • System guidance to ensure financial statements are free from material errors

  • Support the leadership team with ad hoc requests

  • Execute the operation of program financial reporting SOX controls

  • Work with team on the development of the monthly forecast

  • Work closely with program finance for updates and analysis of variance explanations

  • Work with Sector/Division for Month/Quarter/Yearly accounting close

You will work with the Finance team as well as other departments on the following:

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports and communicate recommendations to management

  • Prepare, analyze, and report monthly expenses

  • Compare to forecast and provide variance analysis

  • Adhoc support for government requests

  • Support internal key stakeholders for compliance direction

This requisition may be filled as a Principal Financial Analyst (Level 3) or a Senior Principal Financial Analyst (Level 4).

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Financial Analyst:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years of related experience or Master’s Degree with 4 years of related experience

  • Experience with financial planning and forecasting

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Ability to effectively and clearly present proposals and financial impacts to all levels of organization

  • Strong analytical ability with excellent detail orientation

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Financial Analyst:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of related experience or Master’s Degree with 8 years of related experience

  • Experience with financial planning and forecasting

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Ability to effectively and clearly present proposals and financial impacts to all levels of organization

  • Strong analytical ability with excellent detail orientation

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Experience with program cost control

  • Experience with proposal and pricing support

  • Audit experience

  • Ability to review and analyze data as needed

  • Aerospace/Defense Industry experience

  • Excellent multi-tasking ability

  • Knowledge of CAS/FAR/DFARS

  • Knowledge of Federal Contracting Regulations with the ability to apply sound judgment to proposal strategy, contract formation and customer relationships

Salary Range: $76,600.00 - $115,000.00Salary Range 2: $95,000.00 - $142,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
