What You Will Do:
Guidehouse is seeking a Sustainability Research and Strategy Analyst to join our Defense and Security Segment (D&S), where they will support the the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on a contract that provides strategic planning, business transformation, advanced data analytics, financial modeling, strategy, and training. This individual will support/conduct sustainability analyses, develop strategic frameworks and plans, and leverage business processes and policy insights to identify programmatic enhancements to meet the agency’s sustainability goals, especially in CBP's international trade space.
Duties will include:
- Support/conduct evaluations or sustainability studies to help an organization simplify procedures, operate more efficiently, and improve effectiveness
- Develop daily communications between internal and external stakeholders
- Support implementation of a sustainability strategy framework, including workshops, to help an organization or program achieve its intended sustainability goals
- Prepare for and support facilitation of internal and external stakeholder discussions, client meetings, and briefings for executive leadership (including interviews and workshops) to inform sustainability policy ideation and implementation
- Support workstreams and balance multiple concurrent assignments while ensuring technical accuracy, adherence to standards, and timely delivery of all products
- Contribute to the development of a wide range of high-quality briefing materials and concise summaries of complex studies, evaluations, and data analyses to communicate program effectiveness and progress to senior leaders
- Conduct detailed risk analysis on the implementation of different policy changes to include mapping of qualitative and quant risks, review of probability/impact/velocity, design of mitigation approaches, and integration into the organizations risk posture
- Support development of implementation approaches for proposed organizational changes, to include budget, timelines, system updates, policy/procedure updates, stakeholder outreach, communications, and training
- Leverage sustainability expertise and knowledge to apply to project execution and work products
- Inform decision making through informative data visualizations, presentations, and interactive dashboards that convey key dimensions of challenges and solution approaches, using open source and commercially available visualization and dashboard applications and tools.
- Research private sector and attend industry events to brief CBP leadership on industry trade and sustainability practices.
What You Will Need:
- Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD Public Trust
- Bachelor’s degree
- THREE (3) or more years of experience related to sustainability or climate change or supply chain or circularity analyses and/or green energy
What Would Be Nice To Have:
- Master’s degree or other formal education or certifications in Sustainability, Climate Change, Green Energy, or other related field
- Formal education and/or ONE (1) or more years of professional experience specifically related to sustainability strategy or climate change research or supply chain or circularity analyses or green energy
- Experience in sustainability strategy development
- Experience in supply chain and circularity analyses
- Experience in conducting sustainability and/or green energy, and or climate change research and analysis that has resulted in gaining a comprehensive understanding of a complex technical program, including processes, systems, training, data, and resources to identify recommendations to align with a program’s goals and strategic direction
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications
- Experience in leading studies, analyses, assessments, and other research to address operational and/or organizational challenges resulting in
- Experience in performing industry benchmarking, and benchmarking against other federal government agencies’ processes, policies, operations, best practices, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to adapt quickly and develop successful professional relationships with key stakeholders
- Ability to conduct environmental scans and analysis to inform strategy planning, strategic direction, and execution
- Experience in collaborating in a team environment to to compile, collate, and integrate both qualitative and quantitative portfolio, program, project, information and data
- Experience in performing basic data analysis and building basic data visualizations in MS Excel
- Ability to apply technical principles, theories, and knowledge of a client’s mission area to enhance the deliverables associated with a particular task order
- Experience in providing technical assistance to the team in the areas of problem definition, analysis, requirements development, and implementation for complex solutions
- Experience conducting interviews or gathering feedback from external stakeholders
- Proficiency in SharePoint
- Experience working in DHS or CBP
- Experience with supply chain and/or international trade
- Experience in federal government management consulting
The annual salary range for this position is $71,800.00-$107,600.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
