At Travel + Leisure, the Business Systems Analyst III works as a liaison between business and technical partners to elicit, analyze and evaluate user needs to guide system solutions that support overall business strategies. The Business Systems Analyst III defines scope and objectives and documents system requirements that drive system development, testing and implementation. Business and technical expertise are proven and advanced to allow the Business Systems Analyst III to work on projects/initiatives with high complexity. Tasks will be completed independently. The Business Systems Analyst III applies expert analysis skills to identify impacts both within assigned projects/initiatives and across the organization.

How You'll Shine:

  • Perform as a liaison between IT and business unit(s):
    • Collect and review requirements using various elicitation techniques (e.g.: interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, business, and workflow analysis).
    • Document appropriate level of requirements based on the initiative needs
    • Gain consensus on requirements from all impacted partners
    • Identify process improvement opportunities
    • Assist in any business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology and for enhanced technical solutions
    • Analyze operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses
    • Balance multiple priorities and initiatives
    • Develop requirements management plan for a program or project as required
    • Coordinate requirements work for large initiatives across multiple teams with other Business Analysts when necessary
    • Build and maintain effective relationships with members of upper/senior management
    • Provide subject matter expertise for strategic decision making
    • Review and provide constructive feedback on Statement of Work documents
    • Interpret architecture documents/roadmaps
  • Support projects/initiatives beyond direct assignments:
    • Provide subject matter expertise and direction
    • Support and guide other Business System Analysts I and II’s
  • Support all downstream consumers of requirements to ensure understanding and ability to execute against the requirements delivered
  • Work with Business Stakeholders, Architecture, PMO, QA, UAT and IT to manage change across all requirement deliverables
  • Perform other duties as needed
    • Assist with candidate interviews
    • Assist with onboarding of contractors

  • Strong ability to recognize and apply, business and systems analysis best practices to fit a variety of situations
  • Strong ability to communicate stakeholder’s rationale for decisions made and possible outcomes for those decisions.
  • Ability to professionally challenge decisions and/or strategies made by project team as appropriate.
  • Possess specific and extensive expertise relevant to the business unit(s)
  • Ability to actively analyze and make recommendations for improvement to business processes.
  • Knowledge of business principles and best practices common to the vacation ownership/hotel and hospitality industry
  • Increasing knowledge and comprehension of the organization's business architecture being analyzed including business models, structure, relationships between business units and key stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage requirements work for large initiatives, including coordinating work across multiple teams, supporting multiple Business Analysts, etc.
  • Ability to resolve ambiguity and drive team towards decision making.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with diagramming tools, preferably with MS Visio
  • Ability to use software, hardware, and peripherals related to job responsibilities
  • Experience using various modeling techniques to visually represent requirements
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Business Analyst
  • Experience working with multiple business users at various levels in an organization and in remote locations

Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement.
