The Team

You will be joining a friendly and dynamic international Development team, in the Technology function, based across the UK, Poland & Germany.  The Software Development Team consists of 18 members and is responsible for the development of all bespoke software & integrations developed for the firm.

The team are involved in all aspects of software development, including participating in technical design, implementation, and functional analysis for a variety of different projects & products using modern technologies such as Azure Services & Generative AI.

The Role

This is a hands-on role for a User Experience (UX) Designer. You will be responsible for designing and improving user experiences and bringing your expertise to a team focused on enhancing our products, including our cutting-edge generative AI offerings.

There will be a strong element of interaction with our end users, collaborating closely with our Lawyers & Business Teams staff to understand their needs and how they interact with our products. You will provide creative input to assist in the design process, helping users grasp the potential and influencing the design and development of our products.  A minimum of 4 years’ experience in UX design is required, along with an innovative yet user-centred mindset.

Expectations of the role:

  • Lead UX Design – Responsible for leading the UX design for our products, ensuring they are intuitive, accessible, and deliver a seamless user experience.
  • Design Creation– Responsible for creating journey maps, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs, aligned to our user personas, to visualise and develop user-centric experiences.
  • Data-informed Design– Responsible for utilising a data-informed approach to design, incorporating user feedback, analytics, and market research into the product development process.
  • UX Advocacy – Responsible for advocating for UX best practices and contributing to the development of internal design systems and processes to enhance overall UX quality.
  • Stakeholder Management – Responsible for developing and building relationships across the team and beyond to gain commitment and build trust from stakeholders.  Effectively communicating design ideas and prototypes to stakeholders and team members to ensure alignment and understanding. 
  • Task Management – Responsible for own task management on work assignments, ensuring that requests are resourced appropriately and delivered in line with expectations.
  • Continuous Improvement – Responsible for ensuring delivery of high-quality service through continuous service improvement, leveraging the investment in products and people as well as evaluating new tools and/or ways of working from latest UX trends and technologies.
  • Design Strategy – Responsible for defining and articulating the design strategy (in line with overall Brand guidelines for the firm) and collaborating with development colleagues to implement newly established design standards.
  • Communication – Must be able to collaborate, communicate and work effectively with geographically distributed cross-functional teams as well as with stakeholders within the Business, including our Lawyers to reach a common understanding.

About You

  • Proficient UX Designer with minimum of 4 years’ experience in UX Design, with a portfolio showcasing successful UX design projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness and continual drive to maximise delivery of business value.
  • Effective & strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present & designs and articulate the rationale behind design decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience in working within a large team, located globally.
  • A self-learner with a passion to learn new technologies and to try new concepts and approaches.
  • Previous experience using prototyping tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, InVision etc.
  • Experience in designing for data products, AI, or other complex systems.
  • Proven ability in making decisions in time-critical situations, working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manging multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Pragmatic & results orientated.
  • Strong understanding of user-centred design and UX principles
