Position Description

PIMCO’s Executive Office is looking for a Corporate Development Associate to join our fast-paced, dynamic team. The Executive Office, under the guidance of our Chief Executive Officer, Manny Roman, is responsible for executing the firm’s strategic, operational, and financial initiatives.   

In this role, you will be a key player in supporting our Corporate Development business strategy and execution, focusing on growth and innovation, and assessing the strategic alignment of different opportunities.  As a Corporate Development Associate, you will advance our strategic objectives by conducting in-depth quantitative and qualitative analysis and financial modeling.  This includes monitoring and research opportunities, as well as developing business strategies and scenarios to inform decision-making processes. 

More broadly, you will help support our overall strategy, leveraging your analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, and creativity skills to support the team.  You will also participate in the “full cycle” of transactional execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Corporate Development initiatives, including acquisitions, strategic investments, partnerships, and new business opportunities. Conduct extensive financial modeling, including valuation analysis and transaction structuring, to evaluate a wide range of business situations used for strategic decision making.

  • Develop presentations and investment memos for senior stakeholders and internal committees.

  • Partner with internal PIMCO teams and manage projects to evaluate and execute strategic initiatives.

  • Engage with investment banks, consultants, and peers to gain competitive intelligence and originate potential opportunities.

  • Conduct due diligence research and track peer companies to support the firm’s strategy.

  • Perform financial and strategic analysis using standard corporate finance methods and market, competitive, and opportunity frameworks.

  • Manage strategic projects, develop implementation plans, and transition projects into business execution as appropriate.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from a top-tier educational institution with a well-rounded academic background.

  • 2-3 years of experience in strategy/management consulting, venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or corporate strategy/business development, focusing on strategic, operational, and financial modeling and detailed analyses.

  • Strong experience in financial modeling and valuation, with excellent command of the deal process management cycle.

  • Demonstrated ability to build complex financial models, diligence summaries, snapshots, and other formats to support decision-making.

  • Ability to analyze complex financial and strategic issues and effectively communicate findings to the management team in writing, presentations, and verbally.

  • Experience in data infrastructure and advanced expertise with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. 

  • Progress toward advanced designations (e.g., CFA) highly desirable but not mandatory

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.


Salary Range: $ 125,000.00 - $ 145,000.00
