The Enterprise Data Protection Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining data protection strategies and technical processes/controls to safeguard the organization’s sensitive information. This role involves working closely with various departments to ensure compliance with data protection regulations and best practices. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Solution and implement comprehensive data discovery and classification technologies to aid in larger data protection operations. 

  • Metadata Repository: Design, build, and maintain a centralized metadata repository. 

  • Ensure metadata is correctly integrated across various data systems and platforms. 

  • Conduct regular data protection audits and risk assessments. 

  • Monitor and respond to security incidents. 

  • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection guidelines. 

  • Collaborate with IT and legal teams to continuously improve data protection capabilities.  

  • Provide training and awareness programs for employees on data protection practices. 

  • Maintain and update data protection documentation and records. 

  • Stay current with emerging data protection trends and technologies. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in information security, Computer Science, or a related field. 

  • 7-10 years of experience in data protection, information security, or a similar role. 

  • Strong knowledge of data protection regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, ISO 27001). 

  • Experience with data protection tools and technologies. 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CISSP) are a plus. 

Skills:  

  • Ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Strong understanding of information security principles and practices. 

  • Expertise in Data Protection, Data Governance, Data Loss Prevention, Data Discovery, Data Classification 

    and Metadata Management

  • Excellent risk management, problem-solving, and metrics management skills 

  • Strong leadership abilities. 

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
