This Senior Vice President Implementation Project Manager with partner with multiple internal business stakeholders to design and modify the annual approach to Data Governance Prioritization and lead the planning, execution, and successful completion of Data Governance Implementation projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and Citi internal governance and audit procedures.

This job requires excellent communication skills needed to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are necessary to guide, influence, and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business.

You will be involved in everything from strategic advice through to more day-to-day operational elements.

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of the data governance program / project(s).
  • Identification of and managed of any associated dependencies.
  • Creation of a centralized approach for the annual Data Governance Prioritization, including communicating the approach, training of business partners and monitoring of adherence to the agreed prioritization approach.
  • Detailed analysis on Data Governance inventories to evaluate progress of Implementation plans and/or advise on prioritization approach changes.
  • Creation and management of Business Area Data Governance Implementation Plan Review and Challenges
  • Creation and delivery of regular senior executive program status reporting
  • Ownership of audit action plans
  • Chair and facilitation weekly senior Data Governance Working Group sessions.
  • Adherence to all Citi Program Governance, oversight, and risk management procedures
  • Partnering very closely with Global Data Leads teams, including mentoring on prioritization approach procedures and development of implementation plans.
  • Partner with colleagues within the Chief Data Officer (CDO) on the development of Data Governance Controls, Metrics and KPI.
  • Oversee work performed by 3rd party suppliers.
  • Partner with 2nd and 3rd line of defense where required.
  • Document all project related documentation deliverables.
  • As required, provide recommendations for enterprise-wide guiding principles, policies, processes, and practices.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Banking, Financial Services, plus 6-10 years of Program/Project management experience 
  • Deep subject matter expertise around Data Governance and/or Data risk, control framework and policy development
  • Demonstrates consistent track record of having worked as a Program or Project Manager, or working on large, strategic cross-functional projects.
  • Strong business analysis competency with historic success in shaping opportunities via conceptual thinking and abstract problem-solving capabilities
  • Communicates effectively, develops, and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; able to drive consensus, and influence relationships at all levels.
  • Collaborates effectively by building partnerships and working well with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Ability to gain confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills across a variety of stakeholders at various organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, appreciation of the enterprise data vision
  • Experience creating and being a champion for a positive risk culture that supports sustainable business growth through transparent engagement, a partnership approach, and a no-tolerance approach for behavior that exposes the organization to an inappropriate amount of risk.
  • Experience creating and executing against frameworks that improve the quality and value of data to meet regulatory commitments and enhance risk management. Experience leveraging glossary, lineage, and data quality tools to drive governance.
  • Optimizes work processes by balancing effective / efficient processes with a focus on continuous improvement. Demonstrates ability to balance between seeing the big picture while paying close attention to detail.
  • Organizational savvy: understands systems, management processes, knows where to go for information and how to interpret them.
  • Working knowledge of Data Operating Model practices, Data Governance and Data Compliance within large, financial services firms

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$141,440.00 - $212,160.00
