Job Description:
Sun Life Retail Advice & Solutions (RA&S) is one of the leading financial institutions in Canada that offers Canadians holistic advice and innovative solutions including insurance, wealth and health through a team of digitally enabled and insights-driven human advisors. We are on an exciting journey to create exceptional digital experiences that delight retail Clients while integrating engagement with human advisors.
Reporting to the Director, Hub Owner, the Product Owner will execute on the strategy to provide advisors with best-in-class life and wealth product illustration capabilities making it easier for them to work with clients, increase productivity and grow revenue. The Product Owner will work with their agile team (squad) to manage activities within delivery teams and will partner with insurance (life and health) and wealth product development, Digital Business Technology & Solutions, Sun Life Financial Distribution (SLFD), Prospr, Individual Insurance Distribution (IID) and other Sun Life business units/functions as needed.
What will you do?
Take accountability for product vision and strategy by supporting new illustration capabilities to improve user experience and drive positive outcomes for Clients and the business
Work with the Director, Hub Owner to translate product vision into pragmatic squad roadmap that feeds into a continuously prioritized backlog
Set the product vision with the agile team so they understand the value of the work, how it is aligned to broader Insurance Solutions strategy and delivers against OKRs
Maximize the value produced by agile team by ensuring the digital feature meets the users’ needs and aligns to the product vision
Continuously monitor and measure end-user behaviours and usage of the product to inform ongoing refinement of the product roadmap
Identify areas of the business affected by product delivery and determine appropriate approach to engage with relevant stakeholders
Proactively stay in touch with internal partners to maintain an understanding of new developments in their areas and identify opportunities for collaboration
What do you need to succeed?
5+ years of relevant agile digital delivery experience
Champion for agile ways of working with team and stakeholders
Proven track record of implementation experience of systems or digital capabilities in financial services
Post Secondary Degree in Business or related field and Product Owner Certification
Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles
Assets:
Knowledge of the individual life and health insurance space is an asset
Strong business acumen and foundational quantitative skills
Knowledge of technology platforms and / or technical proficiency

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
